  • Patent number: 12324985
Abstract: In an aspect, a first controller module of a mobile device controller can be engaged with a first side of a mobile device of a user. A second controller module of the mobile device controller can be engaged with a second side of the mobile device. One or more mobile device controller characteristics associated with characteristics of the mobile device controller can be transmitted from the mobile device controller to the mobile device. A client application on the mobile device can be modified by a first data processor based on the one or more mobile device controller characteristics. The modified client application can be provided by the first data processor to the user in the mobile device, and the user can interact with the modified client application using the mobile device controller. Related systems, apparatus, techniques, and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 11499592
Abstract: A strain wave gearbox configured to provide over-torque protection. The strain wave gearbox is designed to include a clutch that is at least partially housed within or positioned inside the internal space (herein labeled a chamber or void space interchangeably with internal space) of a flex spline. In some cases, the internal space is utilized to generate the preload for the clutch, and it may be used to provide room for a clutch preload subassembly. The clutch is located outside the flex spline's internal space and is formed to use geometric friction surfaces in the form of mating rings of teeth on mating surfaces or sides of the first and second clutch plates that once preloaded by the clutch preload subassembly require a greater torque than the design torque to rotate to the next tooth.

  • Publication number: 20220119053
Abstract: A robot actor, or character mobility hardware platform, adapted to unleash or provide a wide variety of characters in the physical world. The robot actor enables the often screen-constrained characters to become life-like, interactive participants with nearby people in ways not presently achievable. The robot actor is an untethered, free-roaming robot that is has two (or more) legs, is adapted for high dexterity, is controlled and designed to be self-balancing, and, due to this combination of characteristics, the robot can provide characters with an illusion of life and, in many cases, in correct proportion and scale. The hardware and software of the robot actor will become a new generation of animatronic figures by providing a hardware platform capable of continuously evolving to become more capable through advances in controls and artificial intelligence (AI).
