  • Publication number: 20230236433
Abstract: An atmospheric distortion compensator comprising a disc and a rotator. The disc, which comprises a phase-modifying structure, is rotationally balanced about a center point. The rotator is mechanically coupled to the disc's center point and configured to spin the disc about an axis. When spinning, the disc is configured to control a property of a beam, which is propagating in parallel to the axis and impinging on the disc. By so doing, scintillation effects within an electro-optical field caused by propagation of the beam within a heterogeneous medium are reduced.

  • Patent number: 11703318
Abstract: A homodyne encoder system has adaptive matching of path lengths. Primary apertures receive light from a target. An optical spreader spreads apart the light passing through the primary apertures by at least a factor of two times a baseline separation of the primary apertures. The optical spreader includes a plurality of actuators for modifying the path lengths within the homodyne encoder system through the primary apertures to a detector. A focusing optic focuses the light from the optical spreader at the detector. The detector detects an image of the target with the light from the focusing optic.

  • Patent number: 11499592
Abstract: A strain wave gearbox configured to provide over-torque protection. The strain wave gearbox is designed to include a clutch that is at least partially housed within or positioned inside the internal space (herein labeled a chamber or void space interchangeably with internal space) of a flex spline. In some cases, the internal space is utilized to generate the preload for the clutch, and it may be used to provide room for a clutch preload subassembly. The clutch is located outside the flex spline's internal space and is formed to use geometric friction surfaces in the form of mating rings of teeth on mating surfaces or sides of the first and second clutch plates that once preloaded by the clutch preload subassembly require a greater torque than the design torque to rotate to the next tooth.

  • Publication number: 20220217578
Abstract: The disclosed invention uses computer-implemented algorithms, including machine learning algorithms, to detect radiofrequency (RF) transmissions within a congested RF environment. Some embodiments include a method for sampling an RF environment, mapping the sampled signals onto a spectrogram, extracting signal start times from the spectrogram and loading the start times into a bit array. The method continues by correlating a subset of start times with each other, each subset representing a potential pulsed signal. The subsets are selected for strength of correlation by threshold analysis, and then are subject to sine wave analysis to precisely identify start times within the selected subsets before selecting strongly matched subsets by another threshold analysis. In other embodiments, a system for detecting pulsed RF signals includes a RF receiver, a signal detector, a converter for creating a bit array, a correlator, a first threshold discriminator, a sine wave analyzer, and a second threshold discriminator.
