The microservice may receive, from a virtual machine manager, an instance identifier of a virtual machine instance executing the first node and the microservice. The microservice may receive, from the virtual machine manager based on the instance identifier, a plurality of labels applied to the virtual machine instance. The microservice may validate each received label based on at least one rule. The microservice may receive, from the cluster orchestration platform, an identifier of the first node in the cluster orchestration platform. The microservice may apply each received label to the first node in the cluster orchestration platform.
