  • Patent number: 11871806
Abstract: An article of apparel includes a plurality of textile panels and a textile material. The plurality of textile panels includes a first textile panel and a second textile panel. The first textile panel is spaced apart from the second textile panel to define a gap between the first textile panel and the second textile panel on the article of apparel. Each of the plurality of textile panels possesses an elongation value and includes a plurality of reinforcing ribs extending across said textile panel. The textile material is positioned in the gap between the first textile panel and the second textile panel. The textile material possesses an elongation value that is different than the elongation value of each of the first textile panel and the second textile panel.

  • Publication number: 20230189911
Abstract: An article of apparel and method of making the article of apparel for a wearer is disclosed herein. In at least one embodiment, the article of apparel comprises a fabric defining a first, inner surface facing the wearer, and a second, outer surface opposite the first surface. A plurality of compression areas are formed along the inner fabric surface, each compression area comprising compressed yarns. A sealing agent effective to reduce the air permeability of the fabric is applied to each compression area. The sealing agent secures the yarns in a compressed state.

  • Patent number: 11234470
Abstract: An article of apparel is configured to be worn on a torso of a wearer. The article of apparel includes a plurality of textile panels including a first textile panel and a second textile panel. The first textile panel is spaced apart from the second textile panel to define a gap between the first textile panel and the second textile panel on the article of apparel. An elastic textile material spans the gap and extends from the first textile panel to the second textile panel on the article of apparel. The first textile panel and the second textile panel possess a first elongation value, and the elastic textile material possesses a second elongation value that is greater than the first elongation value.

  • Patent number: 10492550
Abstract: A process of forming a textile and apparel formed utilizing the textile is disclosed. The textile includes a base layer and a spacer layer defined by a plurality of bosses extending from the base layer. In an embodiment, the bosses are oriented in a grid pattern, being spaced apart to define gaps for air circulation. Selected bosses are mechanically compressed and secured in the compressed state utilizing an adhesive composition. The adhesive composition may further include heat insulating or heat reflective particles. The resulting textile may be utilized to form articles of apparel, including garments such as shirts, pants, coats, and footwear.

  • Patent number: 10010118
Abstract: An article of apparel with grasp-resistant panels includes a multilayer textile having a first fabric layer possessing a first elongation value bonded to a second fabric layer possessing a second elongation value, where the second elongation value is less than the first elongation value. In an embodiment, the first fabric layer is a stretch knit and the second fabric layer is a non-stretch woven. The second fabric layer is discontinuous, defining a plurality of panels spaced along the first fabric layer. The article of apparel selectively stretches, expanding along non-paneled areas. With this configuration, the article of apparel fits onto multiple body types, providing full range of motion while inhibiting the grasping and holding of the apparel by a non-wearer.
