  • Patent number: 12622475
Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to systems, methods, and articles for producing a patterned film and using the patterned film to form a pattern of discrete overlay film structures on a substrate material. A uniform thickness of a film material is deposited on to a first surface of a run of carrier sheets, where each carrier sheet includes one or more holes extending there through. A first carrier sheet is extracted from the run of carrier sheets, and a second surface of the carrier sheet is positioned on a substrate material. Heat and/or pressure is applied to the film material to cause the film material to transfer to the substrate material through the one or more holes in the carrier sheet forming a pattern of discrete overlay film structures on the substrate material. The carrier sheet along with remaining portions of the film material is removed from the substrate material.

  • Patent number: 12616857
Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to a washable and reusable face mask that provides effective filtration of small-sized particulate matter while providing a large surface area for gas exchange. The face mask is formed from knit materials and polyurethane materials and includes a plurality of molded pleats that extend from a right side edge to a left side edge of the face mask.

  • Patent number: 12599813
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a swim cap with a wall that can include a surface with a higher coefficient of friction (e.g., higher than conventional swim caps and/or higher than other surfaces of the swim cap). The surface finish can be positioned at various locations of an inner face of the swim cap, and in some examples, the surface finish is positioned near the edge of the swim cap (e.g., the terminal edge forming a perimeter around the head opening of the swim cap). In some examples, the band extending around the edge can be associated with a thicker wall of material, which can increase the modulus of elasticity and a tightness of the fit of the swim cap. The swim cap can include various materials, and in some examples, the swim cap comprises silicone.

  • Publication number: 20250386882
Abstract: Garments have heating and/or cooling functionality provided by temperature modifying units engaged with the garment. Aspects of this technology relate to the manner in which the temperature modifying units may be incorporated into the garment structure, structures for better positioning the temperature modifying units to apply heating and/or cooling to the wearer's body, and/or structures for helping assure that the temperature modifying units remain functional.

  • Publication number: 20250359605
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a fastener that can be used with various apparel and that can be easier to operate and can be less likely to create discomfort to a wearer. In at least some examples, the fastener includes a hook, which can be connected to a first portion of the article, and a receiver, which can be connected to a second portion of the article. The hook can be releasably connected to the receiver to selectively secure the first portion of the article to the second portion of the article. The receiver can include various elements, and in one example, the receiver includes a slot that can receive, at various angles and orientations, a bend of the hook. In addition, receiver can include a cross bar (e.g., anchor bar) that mates with the bend of the hook to retain the hook in a secure position.

  • Publication number: 20250295189
Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to articles of apparel formed from a base textile and including a plurality of discrete overlay film structures affixed to the base textile at one or more locations on the article of apparel. When exposed to an external stimulus, the film structures undergo an increase in dimension in at least the z-direction and the base textile undergoes a change in dimension in at least the z-direction to produce stand-off nodes.

  • Publication number: 20250107577
Abstract: A garment can include a textile that has moisture wicking and concealing properties. The textile may be strategically positioned such that a hydrophilic layer (with wicking properties) is positioned adjacent a skin surface of a wearer, and such that a hydrophobic layer, which has moisture concealing properties, is positioned external to the layer that has moisture wicking properties.

  • Publication number: 20250064154
Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to an article of apparel having a vent opening formed by overlapping the edges of a first panel and a second panel. A plurality of discrete overlay film structures are applied to the second panel adjacent to the vent opening. When the article of apparel is exposed to an external stimulus, the film structures undergo a reversible increase in dimension in at least the z-direction which cause the second panel of material to undergo a reversible decrease in dimension in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the vent opening thereby causing the vent opening to dynamically transition from a closed state to an open state.
