  • Patent number: 11662643
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for adjusting an optical signal. An example device can comprise a plurality of waveguides. The device can comprise an interference structure optically coupled to the plurality of waveguides and configured to receive an optical signal and distribute the optical signal to the plurality of waveguides as a plurality of optical signals. The device can comprise a plurality of phase shifters coupled to corresponding waveguides of the plurality of waveguides and configured to adjust the phase of one or more of the plurality of optical signals. The device can comprise a plurality of emitters optically coupled to corresponding outputs of the plurality of phase shifters and configured to output the adjusted plurality of optical signals. The adjusted plurality of optical signals can be output as light patterns reconfigurable in at least one dimension.

  • Patent number: 10136593
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus that is utilized as a hydroponic growth conduit located around the perimeter of a building roof, where the plant media growth extends over the roof providing shade and a form of insulation for the building. The system serves as a form of green roofing that does not require a soil medium to grow the plants and therefore does not require the related additional structural components or costs. Existing roofs can easily be modified to accommodate this proposed apparatus. Said apparatus retains a designed volume of water to provide a growth medium for the plant's root systems. The apparatus continues to function similarly to a traditional roof gutter, collecting, conveying and discharging accumulated rain water.

The system serves as a form of green roofing that does not require a soil medium to grow the plants and therefore does not require the additional structural components or costs. Existing roofs can easily be modified to accommodate this proposed system. The roof drainage system functions much like traditional gutter systems except for a designed volume of water is retained to provide a growth medium for the plants root systems. The gutters contain all the growth support mechanisms typically included in a traditional hydroponics system.

  • Patent number: 7297661
Abstract: Blends of synthetic olefins for use as the continuous phase of fluids selected from the group consisting of drilling, drill-in, and completion fluids. The blends meet EPA discharge requirements while also permitting investigators to clearly discern the presence and quantity of biological markers in reservoir fluid samples—particularly pristane and phytane.
