Patent number: 12624614Abstract: A downhole tool for cleaning a wellbore, the tool including a tool body having a flowpath therethrough. A liquid is configured to flow through the flowpath and may have an intermittent flow pattern. An inner sleeve positioned within the tool body includes a recess having a recess pattern. In response to the intermittent flow pattern, a shift pin positioned in the recess of the inner sleeve traverses through the recess pattern. The downhole tool includes at least one scraper blade. The scraper blade is movable between a retracted position and a radially expanded position. In response to the shift pin traversing the recess pattern of the recess, the scraper blade can be expanded radially outward toward a wall of the wellbore from the retracted position to the expanded position and/or retracted inward away from the wall of the wellbore from the expanded position to the retracted position.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2025Date of Patent: May 12, 2026Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Jon-Howard Elliott Hanson, Kyle Wayne Davis, Peter Reid Maher, Timothy Simmonds, Alan Pace, Gavin Munro

Patent number: 12371966Abstract: Disclosed embodiments relate to isolation devices for use downhole in a wellbore, for example to isolate a zone of a well. Isolation device embodiments may include a slip, a wedge, a seal element, and a retaining mechanism. The slip may have a run-in position with respect to the wedge and a set position with respect to the wedge. The seal element may be configured to expand radially during movement from the run-in position to the set position. The retaining mechanism may be configured to allow movement of the slip from the run-in position towards the set position, but to lock the slip in the set position. In embodiments, the retaining mechanism may be configured to prevent dislocation of the slip when set, for example forming a retaining cage around the slip.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2024Date of Patent: July 29, 2025Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventor: Kyle Wayne Davis

Patent number: 12258841Abstract: A downhole tool for cleaning a wellbore includes a tool body having a passage therein. A liquid is to flow through the passage of the tool body and have an intermittent flow pattern. An inner sleeve positioned within the tool body includes a recess having a recess pattern. In response to the intermittent flow pattern of the flow of fluid, a shift pin positioned in the recess of the inner sleeve is to traverse through the recess pattern. The downhole tool includes at least one scraper blade. The scraper blade is movable between a retracted position and a radially expanded position. In response to the shift pin traversing the recess pattern of the recess, the scraper blade can be expanded radially outward toward a wall of the wellbore from the retracted position to the expanded position and/or retracted inward away from the wall of the wellbore from the expanded position to the retracted position.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2021Date of Patent: March 25, 2025Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Jon-Howard Elliott Hanson, Kyle Wayne Davis, Peter Reid Maher, Timothy Simmonds, Alan Pace, Gavin Munro

Patent number: 10683734Abstract: Dissolvable casing liners are utilized to isolate existing perforations. A dissolvable casing liner is deployed downhole along the interior of a casing string having a plurality of perforations. The casing liner is then secured against the casing string, thereby effectively sealing the perforations. Once the perforations are isolated, refracturing operations may be conducted. At some time thereafter, the casing liner is dissolved and removed from the wellbore.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2016Date of Patent: June 16, 2020Assignee: HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC.Inventors: Matt James Merron, Kyle Wayne Davis

Publication number: 20190218873Abstract: In composite slips and downhole tools using composite slips, there are provided one or more slip segments. The slip segments comprise a body and one or more inserts. The body is a composite material having an outer surface. The inserts each have an upper surface and each of the inserts is mechanically affixed into the body such that the upper surface of each of the inserts extends at least partially out from the outer surface. In some embodiments, the inserts are oval or stadium shaped and have a shoulder that locks the insert from moving by interaction with a shoulder in a cavity wall of the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2016Publication date: July 18, 2019Inventors: Kyle Wayne Davis, Gregory William Vargus, Daniel F.
