The first holding member has an inner circumferential surface that faces the outer circumferential surface of the first roll, and rotation of the first roll and the second roll in correspondence with each other causes a sheet material to pass.

The electric cylinder includes: an outer cylinder; a rod configured to be capable of extending and retracting in an axis direction from an opening on one end side of the outer cylinder; a bearing provided on the inside of the outer cylinder; a rotating shaft rotatably supported by the bearing and driven to rotate with driving force of a motor; a screw mechanism that converts a rotary motion of the rotating shaft into a linear motion of the rod and transmits the linear motion; and a load detecting section that detects a load in an axis direction applied to the rod in a position where the load is transmitted from the rod through the screw mechanism. The control section controls the electric cylinder on the basis of a signal from an encoder of the motor and a signal from the load detecting section.

    Abstract: To provide a decompressing jig that can apply pressure on a workpiece after a space for accommodating the workpiece is sufficiently decompressed and a method for applying pressure on a workpiece by using the decompressing jig. The decompressing jig 1 is configured by integrating a first member for decompression 10, a second member for decompression 20, a sealing member 30, a first member for preliminary decompression 40, and a second member for preliminary decompression 50. The first member for decompression 10 is formed by spreading a first sheet 12 made of a flexible sheet across a first frame 11. In the first frame 11 a path for suction 15 that is connected to a device for suction via a port for suction 14 and that is connected to a space S for accommodating the workpiece is formed. The first member for preliminary decompression 40 forms a chamber Y for preliminary decompression between it and the first sheet 12 so that the chamber Y can be decompressed.

    Abstract: A press apparatus for use in manufacture of a liquid crystal panel presses upper and lower glass substrates placed between a pressure-exerting plate and a pressure-receiving plate while a seal located around the glass substrates is being heated and melted. The pressure-exerting plate is supported by a pressure-transmitting plate through three load cells. The pressure-transmitting plate presses the pressure-exerting plate against the pressure-receiving plate through the load cells and thereby presses the glass substrates uniformly. When a difference between the detection values of the load cells exceeds a predetermined value, it is determined that the glass substrates are not being pressed uniformly and the pressing operations thus stopped.
