  • Publication number: 20060080685
Abstract: In one embodiment, an optical disk device includes a tray in which any of recording mediums with differing outer diameters such as a cartridge housing a disk and a bare disk can be selectively mounted, the device being configured such that by transporting the tray into the main body of the optical disk device, the recording medium mounted in the tray is made to be chucked by a turntable. In the optical disk device, holding means that hold the recording medium at a predetermined position of a mounting face of the tray are provided in a front portion and a rear portion respectively in the transport direction of the tray, at least one of the holding means is configured so that a holding member can move to a first holding position where it is possible to hold a small diameter recording medium, and to a second holding position where it is possible to hold a large diameter recording medium, and the holding member is biased to the first holding position by a biasing means.

  • Publication number: 20060080684
Abstract: An optical disk device includes a tray in which a cartridge housing a disk is mounted, configured to be transportable to a position where recording and playback are possible by loading the tray into the main body of the optical disk device, and a position where cartridge installation and removal are possible by unloading the tray out of the main body of the optical disk device. In one embodiment of the optical disk device, latching protrusion(s) 24 is/are provided that latch(es) an outer face of an angular portion of the cartridge 30 on the tray 20.

  • Publication number: 20060044975
Abstract: A recording/reproducing apparatus is provided that is used by a plurality of users and simplifies file management in a storage medium in which many content items are stored. With the use of the recording/reproducing apparatus (1), when recording and reproducing contents on and from an optical disk D, recording and reproducing history information is recorded and updated for each content item and for each user who has recorded the content, will reproduce the content, and is reproducing the content. The recording and reproducing history information includes information, for example, indicative of whether or not each content item has been reproduced, and a reproducing restriction set on each content item. Displaying such information realizes simple file management. For example, it is possible to fetch contents that have not been commonly reproduced among plural users, or delete contents that have been reproduced by all users, both quickly and reliably.

  • Patent number: 6714505
Abstract: Side holders 52, 52 are provided at either side in the width direction interior relative to stationary holder(s). Parallel link mechanism(s) is or are provided for causing side holders 52, 52 to move in the cartridge 40 width direction. When a cartridge 40 which is one of a plurality of types of cartridge other than a cartridge or cartridges of the type or types that is or are smallest in width is inserted therein, pressure from that inserted cartridge 40 causes actuation of parallel link mechanism(s), and respective side holders 52, 52 move outward in coupled fashion to form insertion space in agreement with width direction dimension(s) of cartridge 40.

  • Patent number: 5920442
Abstract: A cassette loading device including the following configuration: one cassette holder is fitted into the other cassette holder so as to slide in the cassette's direction of movement relative to the other. The other cassette holder is moved in linkage with the cassette pushing operation for magnetic tape cassette inserted into the one cassette holder, with a different amount of stroke from the pushed amount of stroke for the magnetic tape cassette inserted in the one cassette holder. Also, a timing change lever which is rotationally supported at a central portion across the length, is adapted to selectively become engaged at its distal end with the magnetic tape cassette held in the cassette holder. In the terminal end of the movement of the cassette, the opening which is provided at the other end of the timing change lever is detected so that the cassette in-pulling operation starts at the timing of the detection.

  • Patent number: 5325248
Abstract: A rotary head assembly has a first positioning surface and a second positioning surface provided in a rotary yoke. The first positioning surface contacts an end surface of a rotor of a rotary transformer. The second positioning surface contacts an outer peripheral surface of the rotor of the rotary transformer. A rotary yoke is fixed on the rotor by magnetic force by a motor. The rotary yoke is positioned by the first positioning surface in a thrust direction, and by the second positioning surface in a radial direction. Thus, the rotary yoke can be easily and precisely attached.

  • Patent number: 5175630
Abstract: An apparatus for selectively recording a baseband signal and a MUSE signal on a magnetic tape and for reproducing them at different speeds including: a magnetic head circuit having first and second groups of heads provided separately form each other. Each of the head groups includes four rotary heads for consecutively and helically scanning the tape to record and reproduce the baseband and MUSE signals.

  • Patent number: 5136437
Abstract: A video signal recording/reproducing apparatus with two groups of rotary heads which respectively include one main head and two auxiliary heads is set forth. The apparatus includes a head switching device for switching one of the two auxiliary heads into operation according to input video signals and a tape speed switching device for switching the running speed of a video tape according to the input video signals. The apparatus permits the video signal recording/reproducing of both video signals having a wide band and a narrow band. The apparatus also defines an effective tape wrap angle wherein the position of head switching is removed from a screen so that the division of images within the screen is avoidable and so that noise bars produced in the boarders of these images do not appear even in the case of special reproduction.
