  • Patent number: 5613303
Abstract: An oil level gauge having a simple structure so as to be readily assembled, an accidental disconnection of a handle from a rod being prevented, favorable contact between a rubber packing and an inner wall of a gauge insertion pipe being assured, and a reliable water-proof arrangement being obtained to prevent water from entering into an oil tank. The oil level gauge includes a rod including an oil level indicator at its lower end, a handle provided at an upper portion of the rod, and a rubber packing fitted on the rod in the vicinity of the handle; and these components are tightly assembled each other via a pressing force provided by the rubber packing which is being compressed.

  • Patent number: 5509569
Abstract: An air-tight filler neck cap wherein an operating torque is amplified to obtain a large tightening torque including an outer cap of the filler neck which includes a knob and a cover grip which is engaged with a body of an automobile to thereby prevent the cover grip from rotating and an inner cap of the filler neck cap which is moved in association with the outer cap by a planetary gear mechanism. The planetary gear mechanism includes a sun gear, planet gears and a ring gear located on a carrier disk plate which is rotatably attached to an upper face of the inner cap.

  • Patent number: 5437317
Abstract: A ventilation line opening/closing device for a fuel tank wherein opening/closing valve is provided in a ventilation line for vapor leading from the fuel tank to a canister. The opening/closing valve includes a closure device for closing the valve by opening a shutter when a fuel supplying nozzle is inserted into a filler port. The valve remains closed even when the fuel supplying nozzle is removed from the filler port and is only opened by an opening device for opening the valve when the filler cap is tightly fitted into the filler port.

  • Patent number: 5327933
Abstract: This invention relates to a check valve of a fuel tank which is provided in an end portion of a fuel supply pipe for introducing fuel to the fuel tank, which end portion is located inside of the tank. The check valve comprises a valve plate which is large enough to cover the end face of the pipe, and a valve support which supports the valve plate by a connecting pin serving as a hinge, the valve support being of a semicylindrical shape having an inner diameter which is substantially equal to an outer diameter of the pipe to which the valve support is attached, the valve support being attached to the pipe by engaging concave and convex fitting means which are formed at least on end portions of the valve support on both sides and on the associated pipe.

  • Patent number: 5222519
Abstract: The present invention relates to a reverse-flow prevention device for a fuel tank of an automobile which is provided between a filler port and the fuel tank in the automobile. The reverse-flow prevention device of the invention comprises a valve body of which circular interior space is divided into three to six sector-shaped regions and which includes a support bar provided in alignment with the division lines, and three to six valve discs having configurations to be closely fitted in the sector-shaped regions of the valve body and rotating around the support bar. Bearings of the support bar for rotation of the valve discs are provided with rotation-restriction sections which control the valve discs to rotate within a range of not more than 90.degree. as well as in one direction.

  • Patent number: 5172721
Abstract: Even if a bellows is provided in the vicinity of a fuel check valve to be installed between a fuel filler port and a tank, the valve can be operated stably with a structure in which a valve body of the check valve comprises an annular main body section and a tubular extension section extending over the substantially whole length of the inner peripheral side of the bellows.

  • Patent number: 5159953
Abstract: A check valve apparatus for a fuel tank of an automobile or the like compries only two members, i.e., a valve plate made of synthetic resin which is integral with rotating rod members and a valve body made of synthetic resin and having an annular configuration which is integral with bearings or the valve plate. The check valve apparatus is simple in structure and easy to assemble. During operation after it has been assembled, it will not easily dislodge from a pipe, and when the operator intends to detach it from the pipe, it will be readily detached.

  • Patent number: 5020685
Abstract: In a plastic filler neck cap including therein a receptacle for a pressure control valve and a receptacle for an anti-leakage assembly, a positive-negative pressure valve is compactly constructed in such a manner that the valve body retainer plate is formed into a hat-like configuration including an upper portion with a passing hole at its center, an outer peripheral wall and a spring reception tongue; the valve body is in engagement with the valve body retainer plate whose passing hole sustains a portion of the valve body; the valve body presents a double-disk shape with a smaller upper disk and a larger lower disk having on the upside a peripheral upper ridge and on the downside a lower ridge inside the upper ridge, and further a center communication opening extending through both the disks; the diameter of the negative pressure valve body is predetermined larger than the extension of the lower ridge on the bottom of the valve body, forming a pan-like shape setting the opening side down with a skirt portion
