  • Patent number: 6108766
Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure of processor having a plurality of main processors and sub processors, and a method for sharing the sub processors, wherein a method is used for preserving a state of a register file by using a shadow register file when main processor inputs an instruction of the sub processor in case that an exceptional situation happens under processing of an instruction of sub processor and for rolling back thereafter the preserved state in case there is an information of occurrence of the exceptional situation from the sub processor. Also, in order to solve a problem that cache efficiency is reduced due to the use of a first cache which is relatively small and frequently used, there is suggested a first cache bypassing function. Further, in order to solve a problem that its processing speed is reduced when the main processor transfers instructions in sub processor, it is possible to improve the processors' parallelism and its efficiency by providing an extra register file.

  • Patent number: 5020377
Abstract: A low pressure transducer is disclosed which utilizes a stainless steel foil diaphragm. An electrically conductive layer is deposited onto a non-conductive planar disk to form one plate of a capacitor. An epoxy ring is silk-screened onto the non-conductive plate to form an insulative washer between the stainless steel foil and the conductive layer on the non-conductive plate. A stainless steel ring is placed on top of the stainless steel foil and pressed down toward the non-conductive plate until the capacitance formed by the conductive layer screened onto the non-conductive plate and the stainless steel foil diaphragm reaches a predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 4967071
Abstract: An optical fiber position sensor utilizes a passive gray code encoded sensor head gray code for improved reliability. Optical energy is propagated to the sensor head over a plurality of optical fibers. At the sensor head, the optical energy is either reflected back along the same fiber or absorbed by the sensor head. The presence or absence of reflected optical energy on each fiber determine each bit state for a digital word. The sensor head is attached to a device to be monitored. Movement of the device causes translatory displacement of the sensor head relative to the fibers, thereby changing at least one bit state.

  • Patent number: 4924702
Abstract: A capacitive sensor is constructed to eliminate electrical conduction through a liquid being measured. The electrical conduction in the liquid occurs between the plates of the reference and measuring capacitors. The capacitive plates which are spaced from the common capacitive plate to form the reference and measuring capacitors are of unitary construction and formed from anodized aluminum. The anodization forms an insulated surface which prevents conduction between the electrodes through the liquid. A ratio taken between the measuring capacitor and reference capacitor is therefore indicative of the level of the liquid within the gap of the measuring capacitor and is independent of the conductance of the liquid and its dielectric constant. Such a probe is particularly useful in applications where the liquid undergoes indeterminable changes in conductivity such as a lubricant which becomes contaminated by metallic particulates.

  • Patent number: 4735098
Abstract: A corrosion proof differential pressure transducer includes a central disk and two thin diaphragms mounted close to but spaced from the disk on both sides thereof, with the diaphragms being intercoupled to move together. This may be accomplished, for example, by a rod passing through a hole in the center of the central disk which is secured to each of the diaphragms; or by a fluid such as silicone oil in the space between the diaphragms and flowing through one or more holes through the central disk. At least one of the diaphragms, the central disk and the rod (when one is used) are formed of alumina, quartz, or other inert, insulating material having substantially zero mechanical hysteresis. One of the diaphragms may be a thin, tough, flexible insulating membrane. Conductive plates providing variable capacitance with changes in pressure may be mounted on the inner surface one or both of the diaphragms and on the facing surface of the central disk.

  • Patent number: 4646557
Abstract: The coefficient of the dynamic friction of the surface of a memory disk or disks may be measured by tilting the entire memory unit, with the magnetic head being mounted for limited movement in the direction of relative movement of the head and the surface. The movement of the memory disk initially carries the head to its extreme position in the direction of movement of the disk. At a certain angle, as the memory unit is tilted from the horizontal toward the vertical, the weight of the head will overcome the dynamic force of the disk-head drag and the head movement to its lower position will be sensed; and the operative component of the weight of the head and its mount at the critical angle will be substantially equal to the dynamic drag or frictional force between the head and the associated disk or disks.
