Abstract: A mobile terminal and method of controlling a mobile terminal are provided. While a preview image is displayed on a screen and a camera zooms in, a zoom-in region is stored after being cropped from the preview image. According to the present invention, when an image resulting from zooming in a preview image is photographed and stored, the region corresponding to the zoomed-in image is cropped from the preview image and then stored instead of the zoomed-in image with a resolution size of the preview image being stored. Therefore, the present invention reduces a size of a stored image without degradation of a picture, thereby increasing an available size of the memory.
