  • Patent number: 9942159
Abstract: A node in a first network domain and a method performed thereby for transmitting a data packet to a VPN client in a second network domain, the node and the VPN client being part of a VPN, wherein the first and second network domain are connected by means of a third network domain are provided. The method comprises receiving, from an application server, a first packet comprising a first IP header and a payload; and determining a DCSP. The method further comprises adding a second header comprising the determined DCSP and an IP address of a VPN client resulting in a second packet and encrypting the second packet. Further the method comprises adding a third header to the encrypted second packet resulting in a third packet, the third header comprising a destination address of a node in the second network domain, and transmitting the third packet in an IP tunnel terminating at the node in the second network domain.

  • Patent number: 7054629
Abstract: The present invention relates to method and means for a system initiated subscriber information redistribution in order to achieve a load redistribution within a pool of core network nodes. The subscribers, that are affected by the redistribution, are determined by the bit values in their TMSI's. These specific TMSI's are then arranged to be treated as invalid by the cellular system. Messages etc. from subscribers with invalid TMSI's will be “trapped” in the cellular system and the subscriber information that belongs to these subscribers will be redistributed to new core network nodes.

  • Publication number: 20040052224
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and means for roaming in a cellular radio communication system with a pool of core network nodes, e.g. an MSC-pool (201). A Subscriber Identification Service Node (SISN) is used to handle roaming from a service area supported by a previous MSC/VLR (205) in the MSC-pool to a service area supported by a new MSC/VLR (303) arranged outside of the MSC-pool. The SISN (301) receives an identity request from the new MSC/VLR (303) and forwards it to the previous MSC/VLR (205). The SISN receives a response from the previous MSC/VLR and relays it to the new MSC/VLR. This means that the SISN helps the new MSC/VLR (303) to retrieve data from the right MSC/VLR within the MSC-pool (201).

  • Patent number: 6345182
Abstract: A method of charging at a mobile switching centre, MSC (5) of a mobile telecommunications network (2) in respect of a call initiated by a mobile terminal (1) registered with the network (2) and terminating outside of the network. At the MSC (5) the call is classified, according to the associated A-number and/or the B-number, as corresponding either to a call for which the MSC (5) is to be the charge determination point or to a call for which the charge determination point is located outside of the mobile telecommunications network (2). In the event that the call belongs to the latter class, the MSC (5) receives tariff information from the external charge determination point (7,9) and calculates charge information on the basis of the received tariff information.
