  • Patent number: 4437532
Abstract: A steering force control device for a power steering device, wherein various inputs including input and output torques respectively applied to and generated by the power steering device are detected and input to a digital computer. The computer selects one of plural objective output torque values stored in a memory device based upon the various inputs except for the output torque and then, calculates a control output value based upon the detected output torque and the selected objective output torque. The calculated control output value is applied to a linear solenoid valve which is provided in a fluid system of the power steering device, whereby the output torque generated by the power steering device is controlled to follow the selected of the objective output torques.

  • Patent number: 4347047
Abstract: A vane type hydraulic pump for use in a power steering apparatus comprising a pump housing receiving therein a non-rotatable cam ring and first and second non-rotatable but axially slidable side plates. A pump rotor rotatable integrally with a drive shaft is received in an internal cam bore of the cam ring and, when rotated, delivers pressurized fluid to a discharge port connected to the power steering apparatus. The first and second side plates define at a contact portion therebetween a radial low pressure cavity, which is fluidically communicated with an axial low pressure hole receiving working fluid from a pump reservoir and bypassed fluid from a flow volume control valve. A branch member is provided on one of the side plates to smoothly branch the fluid flow flowing in the low pressure hole in the axial direction into the flow flowing along the low pressure cavity in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 4246577
Abstract: A tool breakage detecting apparatus is provided with a preset counter to be preset with a predetermined value. The content of the counter is subtracted one by one each time either one of a tool and a workpiece to be machined is moved a unit distance toward the other thereof from a cutting movement start position being spaced a predetermined distance from the other thereof. If the content of the counter is reduced an amount corresponding to a distance larger than the predetermined distance, tool breakage is detected.

  • Patent number: 4189963
Abstract: An index apparatus for indexing a rotary table rotatably and vertically slidably received within a base, comprises a pair of coupling members secured to the rotary table and the base, respectively, and engageable with each other. The rotary table is lifted and lowered by a hydraulic actuator. The rotary table is rotated by a drive means including a drive motor. Generating means are provided to generate a signal each time the rotary table is rotated a unit angle. Control means are provided to reduce the rotational speed of the rotary table in response to the number of signals generated from the generating means, when the rotary table is rotated to a position spaced a predetermined angular distance from a desired angular position thereof. Control means also cause the rotation of the rotary table to stop in response to the number of signals from the generating means, when the rotary table is rotated to the desired angular position thereof.

  • Patent number: 4059746
Abstract: An apparatus for distributing drive pulses to drive servomechanisms in a numerical control system is provided with a clock pulse generator, presettable counters respectively associated with the servomechanisms, and a digital computer. Each counter generates an output command each time it receives from the pulse generator clock pulses of the same number as its preset value. The digital computer is programmed to calculate from numerical control data pulse distribution cycles for the respective servomechanisms, and is further programmed to distribute one drive pulse to the corresponding servomechanism, as well as supplying the period of the distribution cycle for the same servomechanism as a preset value to the counter when the output command is supplied from the same.

  • Patent number: 4029950
Abstract: A numerical control system utilizes a programmable sequence controller as a data transmitter for transmitting numerical control data from a digital computer to machine controllers associated with numerically controlled machine tools. The digital computer converts each of the least units of the numerical control data to a predetermined number of output commands and, upon request, transfers the output commands along with address codes to the sequence controller which has an input-output circuit connected at its output terminals with data input terminals of the machine controllers, so that by selectively setting and resetting the output terminals designated by the address codes, the sequency controller can supply the numerical control data to any one of the machine controllers.
