The Alloy further includes a small calcium component. A high degree of creep resistance is obtained. Further, additional copper and/or zinc components may be introduced together, or singly for providing favorable tensile characteristics to the alloy material.

The magnesium alloy further may contain manganese in the range of 0.2 to 0.4 weight %, beryllium in the range of 5 to 20 ppm by weight or rare earth metals in the range of 0.1 to 0.6 weight.
