  • Publication number: 20080080882
Abstract: A multi-pass type color image forming apparatus. The multi-pass type color image forming apparatus includes an indicating member which is provided at a camshaft and has a plurality of indicating portions, a sensing part which detects the plurality of indicating portions, and a control unit which receives a signal from the sensing part when the indicating member passes by the sensing part by the rotation of the camshaft, and determines a home position by a rotational position of the camshaft when a signal pattern from a sequence of signals from the sensing part corresponds with a preset reference pattern. Accordingly, the home position of the camshaft can be determined in a short amount of time regardless of the slip between the cams and the push caps, so that the warm up time can be shortened and the generation time of noise caused by the contact between the cams and the push caps can be minimized.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus and a method of detecting a home position error are provided. The image forming apparatus includes a plurality of developing units, a cam shaft, and a plurality of cams that are formed on the cam shaft to correspond to the respective developing units. A power transmitting element is installed between the plurality of developing units and the plurality of cams and selectively transmits a rotational force of a driving source to the plurality of developing units according to a rotational phase of the cam shaft. An indicating element is installed on the cam shaft and includes a plurality of indicating units. A sensor senses the plurality of indicating units. A home position error is detected each time when the indicating units pass through the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20070009274
Abstract: A device for fusing and fixing a transferred toner of a predetermined image onto a print paper is provided. In particular, a fusing device which can instantly control induced current provided to a fusing unit in an image printing apparatus which heats the fusing unit using the induced current is provided. The fusing device includes a fusing unit which is resistance heated or induction heated by an induced current, and fuses the toner onto the print paper using the generated heat. A sensing unit senses the temperature of the fusing unit. A reference current generating unit generates a predetermined reference current to heat the fusing unit to reach a predetermined temperature based on the temperature of the sensed fusing unit and the reference temperature. A pulse width modulation signal generating unit generates a pulse width modulation signal for generating the induced current so that the induced current corresponding to the reference current is supplied to the fusing unit.

  • Publication number: 20060124630
Abstract: A fusing apparatus in an image forming apparatus that heats a fusing unit by applying an induced current is provided. The flicker characteristics of the fusing apparatus are improved by gradually increasing the amount of induced current applied to the fusing unit for a predetermined amount of time so that the amount of induced current applied to the fusing unit is prevented from severely varying. The fusing apparatus comprises a fusing unit which is resistance-heated or induction-heated by applying an induced current and fuses toner onto paper using the heat. The fusing apparatus further comprises a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal generation unit which generates a PWM signal in response to the ON signal so that the amount of induced current input to the fusing unit gradually increases to a reference current.

  • Publication number: 20060018675
Abstract: Disclosed are a method of preventing overheating of a fuser assembly and an apparatus using the same. The method of preventing overheating of a fuser assembly includes inspecting whether a temperature of a fuser assembly is higher than a predetermined temperature. If the temperature of the fuser assembly is higher than the predetermined temperature it is determined whether there is a print command. A print sheet is passed through the fuser assembly, and conveyed to a predetermined location. The temperature is again inspected if there is no print command. If the temperature is lower than the predetermined temperature it is determined whether a predetermined time has lapsed. The temperature is again inspected if the predetermined time did not lapse.

  • Publication number: 20060013608
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling the temperature of a heat roller and an image forming apparatus based on the same. The image forming apparatus of the present invention includes: a heat roller for heating a printing paper having a toner image formed thereon to completely fuse the toner image to the printing paper; a heat lamp for heating the heat roller; and a controller for controlling the driving of the heat lamp, whereby the heat roller is maintained at a designated target temperature level during a pre-printing period. As such, it becomes possible to prevent a problem with the fusing process caused by low temperature of the heat roller during the pre-printing period for subsequent printing.

  • Publication number: 20050280859
Abstract: A system and method of controlling printing are disclosed. The system and method comprise inputting image data printed by a printing section and a preset value for a print medium's size corresponding to the image data; measuring a size of each print medium being fed to the printing section; comparing the measured value for the each measured print medium and the preset value for the print medium's size; counting the number of times in which difference is occurred between the measured value and the preset value; and determining whether the print mediums fed to the printing section are different from the preset print medium's size by comparing the counted number of times and a predetermined reference number of times.

  • Publication number: 20050132805
Abstract: Disclosed is an accelerometer capable of compensating initial capacitance. In the accelerometer, support beams are extended from a beam-fixing section to elastically support both ends of a horizontally movable floating mass. Movable electrodes are extended outward from both sides of the mass to a predetermined length. Fixed electrodes are extended from electrode-fixing sections to a predetermined length, and alternate with the movable electrodes with a predetermined gap. Compensation electrode sections displace the mass in a moving direction of the mass to equalize an initial capacitance between the movable and fixed electrodes at one side with that between the movable and fixed electrodes at the other side. The invention can simply displace the mass compensation electrodes to equalize initial capacitances at the both ends.

  • Publication number: 20050132804
Abstract: Disclosed is a capacitance accelerometer comprising a fixed electrode, a movable electrode and support beams. The fixed electrode has rectangular fixed electrode plates arranged parallel with a top surface of an insulation board. The fixed electrode plates are placed one above another via posts, and arranged on an electrode-fixing section of the insulation board. The movable electrode has rectangular movable electrode plates alternating with the fixed electrode plates. The movable electrode plates are placed one above another via connector posts placed within guide holes perforated through the fixed electrode plates. The support beams connect the movable electrode with beam-fixing sections to elastically support the movable electrode. The capacitance z-axis accelerometer can be integrated together with x- and y-axis accelerometers into a single chip, maximize the change of capacitance to achieve excellent acceleration sensitivity, and utilize an amplifier and a filter of low cost.
