  • Publication number: 20040120600
Abstract: A method and apparatus enhances an image quality where original brightness data Xij of a concerned pixel is compared with predetermined brightness levels X1 and X2, which are reference variables to obtain new brightness data Yij, with an enhanced contrast. The method sets initial values of a parameter Vb to calculate the brightness level X1, a parameter Vp to calculate the brightness level X2, the brightness level X1, and the brightness level X2, and compares the brightness data Xij with Vb and Vp. The method resets Vb and Vp according to comparison results and identifies a background area according to the comparison results between the brightness data Xij and parameter X1 or X2, and performs the contrast enhancement on pixels belonging to the background area, and updates the brightness levels X1 and X2 using Vb and Vp when the concerned pixel is the last one in the concerned line.

  • Publication number: 20030198979
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for improving detection sensitivity of hybridized nucleic acid immobilized on a solid support of sensing device for gene assay, by removing non-hybridized nucleic acid probe using nuclease from the solid support. In accordance with the invented method, background signal caused by single stranded probe that is not hybridized with target nucleic acid or signal caused by non-specific binding of target nucleic acid to probe is decreased or removed, which improves detection sensitivity of hybridization with a high accuracy, and minimizes the loss of hybridized nucleic acid in the course of washing background signal removed in the conventional method.

  • Publication number: 20030189729
Abstract: An image brightness level conversion method and apparatus which converts a multi-valued brightness level of an input pixel to a bi-valued brightness level using a threshold value. If the input pixel is determined to belong to an edge area, a predetermined reasonable distance by which dots should be isolated is reduced by a noise component and the threshold value is produced using the reduced distance. If the input pixel is determined not to belong to the edge area, the threshold value is produced without using the noise component. The method provides a uniform distribution of dots on the 2-dimensional space, a decrease in a generation of a void region where no dots appear around the edge area, a reduction of unpleasant appearing fixed patterns between dots, and a decrease in the generation of a typical pattern in which dots with a same color are diagonally arrayed.

  • Patent number: 6625326
Abstract: An edge enhancement method by 4-directional 1-dimensional high pass filtering characterized in that 4 adjacent pixels positioned at a pixel point at which the primary pixel has euclidean distance of 2 in direction of right, left, up, and down, another 4 adjacent pixels positioned at a pixel point at which the primary pixel has euclidean distance of 22 in 45° and 135° direction, and 9 pixels including the primary pixel are masked by a window mask, and if the maximum difference of the surround pixels which are masked is greater than a predetermined reference difference, each edge enhancement value is calculated by performing 1-dimensional high pass filtering in column, row, 45°, and 135° direction centered from the primary pixel using the pixel values which are masked to the window mask.

  • Publication number: 20030102510
Abstract: A molecular detection chip including a metal oxide silicon-field effect transistor (MOSFET) on sidewalls of a micro-fluid channel and a molecular detection device including the molecular detection chip are provided. A molecular detection method, particularly, qualification methods for the immobilization of molecular probes and the binding of a target sample to the molecular probes, using the molecular detection device, and a nucleic acid mutation assay device and method are also provided. The formation of the MOSFET on the sidewalls of the micro-fluid channel makes easier to highly integrate a molecular detection chip. In addition, immobilization of probes directly on the surface of a gate electrode ensures the molecular detection chip to check for the immobilization of probes and coupling of a target molecule to the probes in situ.
