    Abstract: The present invention provides a polarizing plate comprising a polarizer, a protective film attached on at least one surface of the polarizer, and an antistatic adhesive layer formed on the protective film, wherein the polarizing plate has a maximum transmittance of 0.2% or less in the short-wavelength area of 400 nm or less, the maximum transmittance being measured after the polarizing plate is left for 250 hours at 60° C. and 90% relative humidity, and the content of iodine in the polarizer is reduced by 5% or more, which is measured for the polarizing plate in which an adhesive layer having no antistatic agent is applied instead of the antistatic adhesive layer, the measurement being performed after the polarizing plate is left for 24 hours at 85° C. and 85% relative humidity; and a liquid crystal display device having the polarizing plate.
