Abstract: A household starch composition comprises an emulsion prepared by emulsion-polymerizing a vinyl monomer in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol, nonionic modified starch or nonionic cellulose derivative in the presence of a cationic vinyl polymer or a ring-closed polymer of a cationic diallyl compound by using a cationic surface active agent or a cationic monomer or both thereof. Another composition comprises an emulsion obtained by emulsion-polymerizing a vinyl monomer in an aqueous solution of a nonionic water-soluble polymer in the presence of a cationic cellulose or cationic starch by using a cationic surface active agent or a cationic monomer or both thereof.

Abstract: A germicidal herbicide for agriculture and horticulture, which comprises at least one compound, as an active ingredient having the formula (I);r--x--ch.dbd.ch--cooy (i)wherein R represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, X represents S, SO or SO.sub.2, and Y represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, NH.sub.4, an alkyl or alkenyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a polyalcohol residue which may have therein ether bonds formed by intramolecular or intermolecular dehydration, an acetal glycerol residue, or an oxyethylene (1 to 20 units) or oxypropylene group (1 to 20 units) terminated by an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.

Abstract: A germicidal herbicide for agricultural and horticultural purposes, which comprises at least one compound as an active ingredient, of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, X represents S, SO or SO.sub.2, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 which may be the same or different representing hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an oxyalkylene group having 1 to 20 units of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide, 2-sulfoethyl or a salt thereof, or 2-carboxyethyl group.

Abstract: A herbicide which comprises at least one compound as an active ingredient of the formula (I); ##STR1## wherein X represents a halogen atom or an alkyl sulfinyl or alkyl sulfonyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, n represents an integer of 0- 3, Y represents SO or SO.sub.2, and R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms.

Abstract: A powdery bleaching detergent composition consisting of detergent component(s) and sodium percarbonate, characterized in that at least 60% by weight of said detergent component(s) has particle diameters larger than 250 .mu., the copper content being less than 2 ppm and the iron content being less than 5 ppm, and at least 60% by weight of said sodium percarbonate having particle diameters larger than 250 .mu..
