Abstract: A processor-implemented method to control a playback of recorded sound is provided. The method includes displaying on a pressure-sensitive display screen a processor-generated image of a vinyl record and playing, by use of a processor in communication with a processor storage, a sound encoded in the processor storage, to produce a playback of the encoded sound. The method also includes animating the processor-generated image of the vinyl record, to produce an animation of the vinyl record rotating in synchronicity with the playback. The method further includes detecting touch on the animation, the touch including at least one first touch and at least two second touches and controlling the playback and the animation in response to the detected touch.

Abstract: A process for creating a composite picture with a plurality of parts extrapolated from an input picture. The process includes analyzing a picture for color content to detect at least one dominant color in the picture and for shape recognition to detect at least one object in the picture and generating a concentric grid for the input picture based on the color content analysis and the shape recognition for a depth calculation of the input picture. The concentric grid includes a center point, a plurality of lines that radiate from the center point, and a plurality of concentric circles that expand at a spatial distance in the picture, dividing the input picture into a plurality of sections, each representing an equal spatial depth. The process further includes generating a plurality of partial pictures using at least two of the plurality of sections.

Abstract: A composition tool including a memory capable of storing data and a processor is provided. The processor is configured for using the data such that the composition tool can provide a score interface and a plurality of instrument interfaces, wherein each instrument interface comprising a graphical representation of an instrument and a score section for illustration of at least one part of a musical score. The composition tool can provide a touch screen interface to enable a user to select a portion of the graphical representation of one of the instruments by detecting the user's finger placements on the selected portion of the graphical representation. The composition tool can, in response to the selection of the portion of the graphical representation, provide a representation of at least one musical note that is corresponding to the selected portion of the graphical representation of the instrument in the score section.
