  • Publication number: 20020146133
Abstract: The invention is a card-like portable multimedia reproducing apparatus, which is small, light compact, and is capable of allowing digital compressed multimedia data pre-stored in a memory incorporated therein to be converted into a standard analog signal during reproductions thereby discouraging unauthorized copying of copyrighted materials. The apparatus comprises an input/output terminal, a memory for previously storing digital multimedia data, an operating portions a decoder for decoding the digital multimedia data, a converter for converting the decoded digital data into a standard analog signal, an MCU for controlling the memory, the decoder and the converter, responsive to an instruction from a user; a rechargeable battery for supplying a driving voltage to each element, and interfaces connected with the input/output terminal, for connecting the reproducing apparatus to a personal computer.

  • Patent number: 6397107
Abstract: An apparatus for embolic treatment including a high frequency power source and at least one induction coil connected to the high frequency power source which is positioned around the vicinity of diseased vasculature of the body of a patient for generating an eddy current in the metallic coil inserted into the vascular malformation of the diseased vasculature. The eddy current in the metallic coil generates heat which coagulates and contracts the vascular malformation.

  • Publication number: 20020029035
Abstract: A system and method for determining the detachment of an embolic material using a single power supply are disclosed, wherein the determination is made by applying a DC power to an assembly with an embolic material, a sacrificial link and a guiding wire which are serially connected and repeatedly measuring a voltage and current between the assembly and the ground for a plurality of cycles and a plurality of times in each cycle; computing an average of the measured voltages and an average of measured currents; and determining the detachment of the embolic material from the guiding wire based on a change in impedance between the guiding wire and the ground, wherein the change is detected using the present average of the measured voltages, the present average of the measured currents and a previous average voltage which is previously measured for a plurality of times.

  • Patent number: 3992302
Abstract: A baffle in a coil dialyzer is disclosed which encircles the upper portion of the outer layer of support material wrapped on the dialyzer core. This baffle prevents shunting of dialysate along the space between the dialyzer coil and outer dialyzer casing thereby materially improving dialyzer efficiency.
