  • Publication number: 20150288088
Abstract: An electrical connection unit includes a first electrical connection part and a second electrical connection part combined with the first electrical connection part. The first electrical connection part includes a first signal pin configured to transmit an electrical control signal, and a first ground pin configured to receive a ground voltage, the first ground pin being longer than the first signal pin. The second electrical connection part includes a second signal pin and a second ground pin, the second signal pin facing the first signal pin and being electrically connected to the first signal pin, the second ground pin facing the first ground pin and being electrically connected to the first ground pin. An electrical over-stress may be quickly discharged using the aforementioned electrical connection unit. Accordingly, the reliability of a display device including the electrical connection unit may be improved.

  • Patent number: 8581827
Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel that displays an image signal, a backlight unit supplying light to the liquid crystal panel, and a backlight control circuit to scan the backlight unit. The backlight control circuit supplies a pulse width modulation signal to rows of the backlight unit, which are adjacent to rows being scanned, such that the rows adjacent to the rows being scanned have a brightness lower than a brightness of the rows being scanned.

  • Patent number: 8471796
Abstract: An apparatus for providing grayscale voltages and a display device using the same are provided. The display device includes a grayscale voltage provider that provides grayscale voltages using a first reference voltage and a second reference voltage in accordance with a selection signal. A data driver applies data voltages to data lines using the grayscale voltages and an image signal. A gate driver successively provides a gate-on voltage to the gate lines. A display panel displays an image for each frame using the data voltages and the gate-on voltage.

  • Publication number: 20100045710
Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel, a backlight unit, and a backlight control circuit. The liquid crystal panel displays an image. The backlight unit supplies light to the liquid crystal panel and includes a plurality of backlight blocks arranged in a matrix. The backlight control circuit controls the backlight unit. When the backlight control circuit turns on at least one of the backlight blocks, it turns off any remaining backlight blocks arranged in a same row of the backlight unit.
