The paste dispenser includes a stage having a substrate mounted thereon, at least one nozzle dispensing a paste on the substrate by relative movement between the nozzle and the substrate, a measuring means provided at a position facing into an outlet of the nozzle and directly measuring a position of an exchange nozzle, and a controller converting a compensation value in accordance with a displacement of the exchange nozzle based on data measured by the measuring means.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a gap sensor enabling the mounting of a syringe. The gap sensor includes an emitting part and a receiving part for measuring a distance to a substrate. A syringe mounting unit is integrally provided between the receiving part and the emitting part, so that the lower end of the syringe is inserted into and secured to the syringe mounting unit. The syringe mounting unit includes a mounting hole which holds the syringe to keep a distance between a laser beam spot formed by the emitting part and the receiving part and an outlet of the syringe constant, when the syringe is inserted into and secured to the syringe mounting unit. The syringe is directly inserted into the gap sensor to be secured thereto, thus enabling the convenient replacement of the syringe, and minimizing an error between the sensor and the outlet of the syringe which may occur during the replacement of the syringe, therefore allowing the syringe to be more precisely mounted.

Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a nonmetallic substrate (P) and method thereof are disclosed. The present invention is suitable for cutting upper and lower substrates (P) simultaneously or for cutting either an upper or lower substrate selectively in a manner of controlling a cutting depth by adjusting a focus position of a short wavelength laser beam in cutting various nonmetallic substrates (P) such as a glass substrate for fabricating a flat panel display such as TFT-LCD, PDP, OLED, etc. The present invention includes a laser beam generator (10) generating a UV short wavelength laser beam, a torch (6) applying the short wavelength laser beam to a specific location on the nonmetallic substrate to be cut, a focus moving means (8) for varying a focus location of the laser beam in a depth direction of the substrate, and a relative object moving means (3, 4) for allowing the substrate and the laser beam to make a relative movement to cut the substrate.

Abstract: There are provided a method for calculating an amount of liquid crystal to compensate for any of shortage and excess of sealant dispensed on a substrate, Include putting the substrate on a stage, dispensing the sealant in a predetermined pattern on the substrate using a dispensing head, detecting an out-of-specification portion of the pattern of sealant and calculating a cubage of the out-of-specification portion of the pattern of sealant, and calculating any of shortage and excess of sealant due to the out-of-specification of the pattern of sealant. The liquid crystal dispenser adjusts a reference amount of liquid crystal to be dispensed, according to the data provided from the controlling unit of the sealant dispenser. This prevents the liquid crystal from being excessively dispensed, thereby overflowing over the pattern of sealant, or from being insufficiently dispensed.
