Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling home devices on a group basis in a home network system are provided. The method includes collecting operation state information about a plurality of home devices, generating control history information about the plurality of home devices based on the collected operation state information, receiving a group control command for a group of home devices from among the plurality of home devices, the group of home devices being set based on the control history information, and controlling operations of the group of home devices according to the received group control command.

Abstract: A cleaning robot is provided. The cleaning robot includes a main body, a moving assembly to move the main body around a home, an imaging unit to obtain images around the main body, a controller to generate a map of the home using the obtained images, and a communication unit to transmit the generated map to a home monitoring apparatus. A procedure to match location and type information of electric devices to a two-Dimensional (2D) or three-Dimensional (3D) map of the home may be automated. As described above, the map of the home may be realistically generated by utilizing a map generated by the cleaning robot and inconvenience experienced by a user to manually register electric devices located in each room of the home may be solved by automatically registering the electric devices.

A home gateway executes receiving, from a mobile terminal, a request message for requesting home monitoring, providing, to the mobile terminal in response to the request message, monitoring information associated with a camera module included in at least one home device registered in advance and/or a position to be monitored, receiving, from the mobile terminal, selection information indicating a first camera module selected based on the monitoring information, transmitting, to the mobile terminal, image data captured and collected by the first camera module in response to the reception of the selection information, receiving, from the mobile terminal, a control command with respect to the first camera module, and transmitting the control command to a first home device including the first camera module.

Abstract: According to the present invention, content generated from a mobile terminal, a camera, or the like is stored automatically in a home gateway in a home network system. If synchronization is set between the home gateway and a home device, the home gateway may transmit backup content to the synchronized home device. Content may be selectively stored and classified based on a specific location, memo, voice, and the like set by a user for privacy protection.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling groups of devices in a home network system are provided. The method includes receiving a request message for executing a first operation mode from a mobile station through the Internet, reading a control list stored for the first operation mode, in order to determine home devices associated with the first operation mode and in order to determine functions of the home devices, in response to the request message, transmitting control commands, instructing the home devices to execute the functions, to the home devices, respectively, according to the control list, and reporting the results of execution of the functions, according to the control commands, to the mobile station.

Abstract: Provided is a remote control method and apparatus in a home network system including multiple home devices. The remote control method includes receiving operation state information from the respective multiple home devices, receiving a control command for operation control of at least one of the multiple home devices from a user device, determining a control target home device based on the control command, sending the control command to the determined control target home device, receiving processing result information corresponding to execution of the control command from the control target home device, and transmitting the processing result information to the user device.
