  • Patent number: 6970526
Abstract: During decoding and processing of program clock reference (PCR) values in MPEG-2 transport streams, a first initial difference value is obtained by calculating a difference between a first detected PCR value and a system time clock (STC) value generated when the first PCR value is detected. Depending on the update status of the PCR values, a second initial difference value is obtained by calculating a difference between a second detected PCR value and a STC value generated when the second PCR value is detected. Thereafter, a composite difference value is obtained by further calculating a difference between the first initial difference value and the second initial difference value. Subsequently, the first and second initial difference values, and the composite difference values are calculated for a predetermined number of detected PCR values so that the decoder clock signal is generated and maintained at approximately the same frequency as an encoder clock signal.

  • Patent number: 6819676
Abstract: A method for improving scheduling fairness in using a network may include detecting whether or not a collision occurs during packet transmission in the network having a plurality of nodes; and storing and monitoring signal transmit/receive states before the collision with respect to each of the plurality of nodes; if the collision is detected, reading the previous transmit/receive states with respect to a node having the collision. The previous node state that has been read is judged and newly setting an inter packet gap (IPG) for the node. After waiting for a lapse of the IPG that has been set, a backoff is effected. After waiting for a lapse of the backoff time, a signal of the node that has been collided is retransmitted, and the status of the retransmitted signal of the node is analyzed to determine if the retransmitted signal collided. If the collision is not detected with respect to the retransmitted signal of the node, the signal transmit/receive state of the node is updated.

  • Publication number: 20030194209
Abstract: An apparatus for reproducing moving image stream with speed change includes: a receiving means for receiving a compressed moving image stream; a reconstruction means for reconstructing an image from the compressed moving image stream; a generation means for generating a still image from the reconstructed image; a recording means for recording the generated still image; and a reproduction means for extracting the recorded still image from the recording means and reproducing the image in trick modes. Also, a method of reproducing moving image stream with speed change includes the steps of: receiving a compressed moving image stream; storing an image from the compressed moving image stream; generating a still image from the reconstructed moving image and recoding the generated still image; and if a user requests to execute trick modes, extracting the recorded still image and executing the trick modes.

  • Patent number: 6522661
Abstract: A method for improving fairness in use of a network includes detecting whether or not collision occurs during packet transmission in a network having a plurality of nodes and successively monitoring X number of times of packet transmission state prior to collision of each node. The method further includes reading monitored value of nodes that have detected collision if collision is detected as a result of collision detection and selecting a value N as a value in the range of 1≦N≦2X in response to transmission and reception state of each node by determining the read state and then determining backoff time. Standard backoff is performed by adding 1 to the value N if transmission collision occurs again during signal retransmission of each node after backoff time. Updating network state of each node and determining backoff time by reading node state if transmission collision occurs during signal retransmission of each node after backoff time are also performed.

  • Patent number: 6311249
Abstract: A bus arbitration system includes a first priority grant signal determination part for primarily determining a priority grant signal among two groups including a plurality of priority request signals, and a second priority grant signal determination part for finally outputting the priority grant signal among the priority request signals enabled by the first priority grant signal determined from the first priority grant signal determination part. Such a bus arbitration system adopts both the daisy-chain arbitration mode and the round-robin arbitration mode organically. This allows the devices of different characteristics to use the bus line to be suitable for their characteristics, thereby improving throughput of the bus arbitration.
