  • Patent number: 7408557
Abstract: An apparatus and method automatically adjusting the brightness and the color temperature of a screen to an optimum state according to input RGB signals. The apparatus includes an RGB color signal generator and a system controller. The RGB color signal generator determines a maximum value of each of the input RGB color signals and a total maximum value, compares the total maximum value with a predetermined critical value, adjusts the brightness level of the input RGB color signals based on the comparison result, compares the maximum values, and if one of the maximum values is higher than the others, generates RGB color signals, one of which has a color temperature varying according to a predetermined value. The system controller provides the RGB color signal generator with data on the predetermined critical value and a reference value used for detecting the color signal having the higher maximum value.

  • Patent number: 7116322
Abstract: A display apparatus comprises input parts through which analog and digital video signals outputted from a video card are inputted, and a plurality of driving components. The apparatus further comprises: an electric power supply part for supplying electric power; a scaler chip including an A/D converter and PLL and a TMDS part for processing an analog video signal and a digital video signal, respectively; and a controller for detecting horizontal and vertical synchronous signals decoded by the TMDS part of the scaler chip, and for lowering the number of driving clocks of the scaler chip and turning off the driving components according to determination of a power saving mode when at least one of the horizontal and vertical synchronous signals is not outputted. With this configuration, electric power consumption is effectively minimized in a power saving mode in a display apparatus having a unified scaler chip.

  • Patent number: 6862046
Abstract: A display apparatus comprises: a display part for displaying a video signal, a memory for storing predetermined bar code data; a bar code show key for selecting the bar code data stored in the memory for display; an on-screen display (OSD) part for executing an on screen display for adjusting a displaying state of the display part; and a controller for controlling the bar code data to be displayed on the display part through the on screen display part when the bar code data is selected by the bar code show key. With this configuration, a bar code is shown by means of an on screen display so that a separate bar code need not be adhered to a display apparatus, and there is no need for concern that the bar code will be worn away or vanish.
