    Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for generating personal broadcast content. A user terminal apparatus includes a broadcast reception unit receiving broadcast content through a broadcast network; a communication unit controlling connection with a server which provides an authoring tool for generating personal broadcast content and metadata required to obtain one or more pieces of content through the broadcast network and a bi-directional communication network; a user input unit receiving a user input signal; and a control unit configuring a personal broadcast screen, which contains the content, using the authoring tool and the metadata and generating personal broadcast content in response to the user input signal. When the apparatus and method are used, a user can generate personal broadcast content using content which can be obtained through a bi-directional communication channel and a broadcast channel.

    Abstract: An apparatus for and method of transmitting media data, and an apparatus for and method of receiving media data are provided. The method of transmitting media data includes determining whether to multiplex a media data item; determining a stream identifier for identifying a packetization layer packet of a media data item; packetizing the media data item to generate a packetization layer packet; and transmitting the packetization layer packet, wherein the packetization layer packet has a recursive structure in which an aggregated unit having a same packet structure as the packetization layer packet is included in a payload field of the packetization layer packet. The method for receiving media data includes processing received transport layer data; inverse packetizing a packetization layer packet and identifying a payload data type of the packet; and if the payload data type indicates an aggregated unit, inverse packetizing the aggregated unit.

    Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for providing an Internet Protocol Datacasting (IPDC) service in a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. A digital broadcasting transmission apparatus for providing an IPDC service includes an IPDC processing unit which generates IP packet data by packetizing data to be transmitted and generates information on a configuration of the IP packet data; a service linkage information (SLI) processing unit which generates SLI which is linkage information between the IP packet data and an IP bearer which delivers the IP packet data; and a transmitter which multiplexes and transmits the SLI and the IP packet data. Accordingly, by generating and using SLI for linking a DAB system and an IPDC system, the DAB system can effectively provide an IPDC service.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for generating a transport frame, and an apparatus and method for processing a transport frame are provided. The method of generating a transport frame includes: selecting an operation mode of a sub-transport frame, which is a transmission unit of an input packetized frame; generating a sub-transport frame based on the operation mode; and generating a transport frame using the sub-transport frame, wherein the operation mode is distinguished according to whether the sub-transport frame includes stuffing data. Accordingly, a packetized frame can be efficiently transmitted by reducing stuffing overhead bits due to stuffing data and header data.
