  • Publication number: 20080245797
Abstract: A closure device and methods for manufacturing closure a device having a lid that is capable of alternating convex-to-concave movement and concave-to-convex movement. The lid may be mounted to a closure body, which may, for example, contain substances for attracting and exterminating pests, such as ants, other insects, snakes, and rodents. In other embodiments, the closure body may contain other substances, for example, a vaporizable air freshener. Certain embodiments may include a stake for affixing the closure body to the ground.

  • Publication number: 20060025872
Abstract: An apparatus, system and process is provided for communicating safety-related data, over an open system, from a sender to a receiver. Safety-related components, including function blocks, flexible function blocks, resource blocks and transducer blocks, as well as, safety-related objects are provided. Also, an extended safety-related protocol provides for authenticating communications between safety-related components over an existing black channel, such as one using a fieldbus Architecture.

  • Patent number: 6474515
Abstract: A closure for a bottle. The closure includes a spout neck attached to the bottle and a cap rotatably positioned on the spout neck. The spout neck may have a sealing lip and the cap may have an internal vent and an internal body portion. The sealing lip of the spout neck and the body portion of the cap align to seal the bottle when the cap is in a first position. The sealing lip of the spout neck and the circular vent of the cap align so as to vent the bottle when the cap is turned to a second position.

  • Patent number: 6347803
Abstract: The invention is directed to a bicycle that has an elevated lower frame surface to allow for continuous pedaling of the bicycle in a tight banked turn. At least one transmission with that has an output rotational speed greater than its input rotational speed is provided. The transmissions and rear wheel are carried by an assembly that is pivotally attached to the bicycle frame and easily detached therefrom. A shock absorber is positioned between the frame and rear wheel assembly to dampen vertical movement there between.

  • Patent number: 5148550
Abstract: A field mask for protecting the face and head is disclosed. The mask includes a top portion, side portions, and a face portion. The face portion of the mask is flared outwardly at its lower end so that the wearer may lower his head without the lower end of the mask's face portion making contact with his throat. The mask is formed to permit the wearer to wear eye glasses and includes filter vents and a removable transparent lens.

  • Patent number: 5112551
Abstract: A method of molding a flipper link to reduce or eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break. The method includes the steps of forming a mold cavity for forming a flipper link having a first end portion, a second end portion and an intermediate necked-down portion. The necked-down portion provides an area between the first and second end portions which more easily twists and absorbs the stress exerted on the flipper link during use. Pins are provided in the cavity for forming an aperture in each of the first and second end portions. Plastic material is injected into the cavity at each end of the first and second end portions such that the plastic material flows into the cavity about the pins and the knit line or lines are formed in the flipper link in a location substantially centrally of the necked-down portion to thereby transfer the stress on the flipper link away from the apertures so as to substantially eliminate the tendency of the flipper link to break about the apertures.

  • Patent number: 4892309
Abstract: The invention relates to a play feature for a pinball game able to assume a plurality of scoring positions. Various embodiments are disclosed, including two-position targets and four-position targets. The devices are actuated by a solenoid which cooperates with a cam to provide linear or rotary output to change the target position. The solenoids are actuated by a switch associated with the targets. The positions of the targets are sensed to provide different scoring values for each of the different positions.

  • Patent number: 4773646
Abstract: This invention relates to a play feature for a pinball game. The invention includes a plurality of targets mounted on a target carrier. The target carrier can be raised above the surface of the playfield where the targets can be hit by a ball or lowered below the playfield so that the ball will pass over the targets. Located behind this first set of targets on the playfield is a second set of targets. This second set of targets is either covered by a visor or exposed to be contacted by a ball. The visor is operatively connected to the target carrier such that downward movement of the target carrier results in upward movement of the visor. In this manner, the two target areas are alternately exposed to the player to vary the scoring opportunities.
