  • Patent number: 5704609
Abstract: A plural function sheet interconnect module for serially connecting plural multiple bins printed sheets job separating units, such as mailbox modules, with the output of a printer for feeding printed sheets jobs into selected bins. The printer also has a alternate variably occurring output of purge sheets designated for purging, which purge sheets are variably intermixed with the printed sheets jobs. The interconnect module has a sheet bypass transport for feeding the sheets on from one mailbox unit on to another. The interconnect module also has an integral purge tray for collecting the purge sheets and providing for their removal. The interconnect module further has a selectable shared sheet gating system for gating the printed sheets jobs into the sheet bypass transport and gating the purge sheets into the integral purge tray. The integral purge tray underlies the sheet bypass transport and is pivotably openable for the removal of purge sheets therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5642876
Abstract: In an on-line printed sheets output handling system for the sequential output by a reproduction system, in which the printed sheets are registered in neatly superposed sets which are optionally fastened together by a finishing system, which is laterally repositionable to provide variable set finishing; a lateral registration system for said printed sheets output is repositionable with said finishing system, and has a sheet registration member engaging and laterally registering the printed sheets to selectable variable lateral sheet registration positions by the finisher lateral movement repositioning system rather than a separate lateral repositioning system, with a registration disengagement system for moving the sheet registration member out of registration engagement with the sheets after a set of sheets has been laterally compiled and before the finishing system is laterally repositioned.

  • Patent number: 5250993
Abstract: An apparatus for supplying toner material to a developer unit of an electrophotographic system that is mounted within a drawer and pivotable within the drawer about a longitudinal pivot axis between an active position and a non-active position includes a pivot stack connected to the developer unit at its lower end, pivoting within the developer unit about the pivot axis, said pivot stack, and having a toner passage therethrough. The apparatus also includes means for retaining the upper end of the pivot stack in a position fixed with respect to the pivot axis and means for sealing the lower end of the toner stack to the developer unit to prevent leakage of toner.
