  • Patent number: 7389650
Abstract: A glove box assembly for a vehicle is provided. The glove box assembly includes a storage bin and a dedicated climate controlled bin. The climate controlled bin is arranged to receive cooled air from a vehicle heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit for cooling the climate controlled bin independent of the storage bin. The glove box assembly further includes a cooled air inlet. The cooled air inlet is arranged to draw cooled air from the HVAC unit upstream of a blend door when air conditioning is operating so as to provide cooled air to the climate controlled bin independent of a vehicle cabin temperature setting.

  • Patent number: 6264024
Abstract: An arrangement for retaining a plurality of coins includes a main body portion constructed of a resilient material. The main body portion defines a coin receiving opening for at least partially receiving a plurality of coins. The opening has a length and width. The width has a variable dimension for frictioning receiving the plurality of coins. In a preferred embodiment, the main body portion partially defines a generally cylindrical channel.

  • Patent number: 6189851
Abstract: An apparatus for holding beverage containers and other articles is provided. The apparatus includes two cylindrically shaped receptacles with a channel formed therebetween. The receptacles and channel are formed by a generally planar back wall that is substantially tangent to both receptacles, two arcuate side walls, and a front wall. The channel is off-set away from the lateral centerline of the apparatus to allow for reception of pencils, letters, note pads, and other such objects into the apparatus at the same time as beverage containers.

  • Patent number: 6033004
Abstract: A console particularly for a motor vehicle includes several coin receiving recesses. Each recess is formed to include a generally arcuate lower surface and first and second spaced apart side surfaces. One of the first and second spaced apart side surface is formed to integrally include a coin retention member. The coin retention member is adapted to engage a coin and bias the coin against the opposite side to thereby prevent rattling during vehicle use. In the preferred embodiment, the recesses, including their associated coin retention members, are integrally formed with the console through an injection molded process. One suitable material for the console is polypropylene.

  • Patent number: 5494249
Abstract: A container two-element holder assembly, comprising a container holder plate and a hinge link, arranged for substantially flush retracted storage in a vehicle panel recess wherein each element has an internal side lying in a common plane juxtaposed the recess backwall. The hinge link is supported to the backwall about a first pivot axis whereby the holder assembly is adapted for conjoint ninety degree swinging movement about the first pivot axis through a side opening in the recess to an intermediate mode. The holder plate is pivotally connected to the hinge link for rotational movement about a second pivot axis, orthogonal to the first axis, through an angle of ninety degrees from its intermediate mode to a use mode. In the use mode the holder plate internal side, formed with a cavity, faces upwardly for receiving and supporting a beverage container in the cavity.
