Publication number: 20030041711Abstract: A hinged saw table having a sliding carrier for mounting and sliding a portable table saw. The hinged saw table is mounted adjacent to a forming machine that forms stock that is cut with the portable table saw. Elongate stock exits from an exit aperture in the forming machine, and is directed over the table of the portable table saw mounted upon the movable carrier. The portable table saw may be positioned at the correct point for cutting the stock at a desired length. Square or mitered cuts may be made. For storage purposes, the sliding carrier and table saw may be rotated upward approximately 180 degrees over the top of the forming machine where the carrier and saw rest upside down on a stand. The forming machine may be, for example, a seamless gutter rollformer machine that forms sections of rain gutters for houses or other buildings.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2002Publication date: March 6, 2003Inventor: Melvin L. Patent number: 6406885Abstract: This invention satisfies needs in the art by providing intimin, the Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) adherence protein, alone or as a fusion protein with one or more other antigens, expressed by transgenic plants and the use of those plants as vehicles for stimulating a protective immune response against EHEC and the one or more other antigens. Various plant species are transformed to protect various animal species and also humans against EHEC, against pathogens expressing intimin-like proteins, and against pathogens expressing any of the one or more other antigens to which intimin may be fused. The eae gene encoding intimin, a functional portion thereof, or a recombination that encodes a fusion protein is put under the control of a constitutive plant promoter in a plasmid and the plasmid is introduced into plants by the type of transformation appropriate for the particular plant species.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2000Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Assignee: Henry M. Patent number: 6061217Abstract: A circuit breaker includes separable contacts for movement between a closed position and an open position to switch electrical current. An operating mechanism moves the separable contacts between the closed and open positions. A sensor senses the electrical current and outputs a sensed current signal corresponding to the electrical current. A shunt shunts a portion of the electrical current. A trip mechanism employs the sensed current signal to produce a trip signal. A trip actuator trips the operating mechanism to move the separable contacts to the open position. The trip actuator includes a trip solenoid having a coil energized by the trip signal and also includes one or more loops energized by the shunted portion of the electrical current.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1997Date of Patent: May 9, 2000Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Kurt A. Grunert, William E. Beatty, David H. Groves, David M. Olszewski, James P. Ellsworth, H. Richard Beck, Jere L. McKee

Patent number: 5927484Abstract: A circuit breaker includes a housing, an operating mechanism and separable main contacts, and a rotatable crossbar which rotates to open and close the contacts. The crossbar interacts by way of a protrusion thereon with a rotatable, positive off-link. A handle mechanism is disposed in the housing and has a handle protruding from the housing which is normally movable from a closed to open disposition. However, if the operating mechanism has reacted in such a way as to open the separable main contacts but, in fact, they have not opened because, for example, they are welded shut, the protrusion on the crossbar will interact with the positive off-link and prevent the handle mechanism from moving to the opened position thus warning personnel that the contacts have not opened.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1998Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Richard P. Malingowski, Todd M. Lathrop, Robert M. Slepian, Jere L. McKee, Lance Gula, Thomas A. Whitaker

Patent number: 5565827Abstract: A circuit breaker has an electrically conductive blow open latch which forms part of the power circuit so that only short flexible shunts are needed between the latch and trip mechanism. Load current can be conducted from the contact arm to the electrically conductive latch solely through the interface between the latch and the blow open camming surface on the contact arm, and/or through additional short flexible shunts between the latch and the contact arm, preferably adjacent the pivot of the contact arm.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1995Date of Patent: October 15, 1996Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Lance Gula, Joseph F. Patent number: 5394497Abstract: A fiber optic connector plug body (1) receives a ferrule (2) therewithin. The plug body (1) receives an internal body (5) in a snap fit to retain the ferrule (2) within the plug body (1). Two inwardly biased latch members (14) on the plug body (1) are received within a circumferential groove on the internal body. The resulting assembly is resistant to disassembly upon application of tensile and lateral forces to the internal body.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1994Date of Patent: February 28, 1995Assignee: The Whitaker CorporationInventors: David D. Erdman, Kevin T. Monroe, Bryan T. Edwards, Joseph L. McKee

Patent number: 5381500Abstract: A fiber optic termination for incorporating within a fiber optic connector is capable of mechanical assembly which can preclude the use of adhesives for termination assembly. A metal plunger compresses a bullet having an aperture therethrough into a constriction causing the bullet to grip a fiber. A metal insert lines the interior of an alignment ferrule and engages the actuating plunger with an interference fit. The interference fit retains the plunger over time and over a broad operating temperature range. Dimples on the outer surface of the metal insert create pockets of engagement between the insert and the alignment ferrule that resist axial displacement of the insert relative to the alignment ferrule.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1993Date of Patent: January 10, 1995Assignee: The Whitaker CorporationInventors: Bryan T. Edwards, David D. Erdman, Joseph L. McKee, Kevin T. Monroe

Patent number: 5335504Abstract: A process for recovering CO.sub.2 from a mixture of light hydrocarbons, e.g. light hydrocarbons produced from a CO.sub.2 injection enhanced oil recovery. The mixture is distilled in a distributive zone with CO.sub.2 produced overhead and in the bottoms. The overhead and bottoms produced from the distributive zone are then fed to first and second concentrating distillation zones, respectively. The first concentrating zone produces a bottoms product rich in CO.sub.2 and an overhead product rich in methane and lean in CO.sub.2. The second concentrating zone is refluxed with lean oil and produces a CO.sub.2 distillate and a CO.sub.2 -lean bottoms product. In various embodiments, at least a section of each of the concentrating zones are placed in a single column, the CO.sub.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1993Date of Patent: August 9, 1994Assignee: The M. W. Kellogg CompanyInventors: Charles A. Durr, David B. Manley, Robert L. McKee

Patent number: 5260676Abstract: A multiple-pole ground fault interrupter, enclosed in an insulated housing, formed with multiple compartments, includes ground fault detection circuitry for detecting ground fault current that can be a personnel hazard. The ground fault interrupter includes a single trip solenoid assembly having multiple windings, each winding corresponding to one of the poles. The trip solenoid is mounted on a printed circuit board and electrically connected to the ground fault detection circuitry disposed thereon. The printed circuit board together with the trip solenoid assembly is disposed in a single compartment which reduces the amount of interconnection wiring between compartments, which, in turn, results in a reduced cost to manufacture the device. The use of a single trip solenoid assembly also results in the use of less components which further reduces the cost of manufacturing the device.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1992Date of Patent: November 9, 1993Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Umesh C. Patel, Jere L. McKee
