  • Publication number: 20250146034
Abstract: Described herein is a one-pot, four-enzyme cascade of enzymes, three bound to quantum dots with one enzyme free in solution, for the conversion in vitro of fumarate to 1,3-diaminopropane. The cascade operates via two distinctly different enzymatic channeling mechanisms which simultaneously function to increase the overall rate. The first three enzymes of the pathway (AspB->LysC->Asd) were able to engage in channeling in a nanoparticle displayed format, but addition of the last two enzymes to this pathway in this format (AspB->LysC->Asd->Dat->Ddc) did not result in complete channeling through the entire pathway to the final diaminopropane product. Surprisingly, replacement of the last two enzymes (Dat->Ddc) with a naturally occurring fused Dat-Ddc hybrid (Daba) provided for full channeling in this system (AspB->LysC->Asd->Daba).

  • Publication number: 20250143626
Abstract: A nerve integrity monitoring device includes a control module and a physical layer module. The control module is configured to generate a payload request. The payload request (i) requests a data payload from a sensor in a wireless nerve integrity monitoring network, and (ii) indicates whether a stimulation probe device is to generate a stimulation pulse. The physical layer module is configured to (i) wirelessly transmit the payload request to the sensor and the stimulation probe device, or (ii) transmit the payload request to a console interface module. The physical layer module is also configured to, in response to the payload request, (i) receive the data payload from the sensor, and (ii) receive stimulation pulse information from the stimulation probe device. The data payload includes data corresponding to an evoked response of a patient. The evoked response is generated based on the stimulation pulse.

  • Publication number: 20250148279
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for configuring a network with multiple nodes. Each node generates an output value based on received input values and a set of weights that are previously trained to each have an initial value. For each weight, the method calculates a factor that represents a loss of accuracy to the network due to changing the weight from its initial value to a different value in a set of allowed values for the weight. Based on the factors, the method identifies a subset of the weights that have factors with values below a threshold. The method changes the values of each weight from its initial value to one of the values in its set of allowed values. The values of the identified subset are all changed to zero. The method trains the weights beginning with the changed values for each weight.

  • Publication number: 20250143893
Abstract: An implant insertion tool includes an outer shaft, an inner shaft received in the outer shaft, and two arms coupled to the outer shaft and the inner shaft. The inner shaft translates within the outer shaft and has angled ramps that slide within complementary angled ramps in the two arms. The arms engage an implant for insertion into a body. When the inner shaft translates along a longitudinal axis, it causes the angled ramps to slide against the complementary angled ramps in the arms such that the two arms move laterally relative to the longitudinal axis of the outer shaft to engage and disengage the implant.
