  • Publication number: 20170058222
Abstract: Fuel and fuel additives can be produced by processes that provide Fischer-Tropsch liquids having high biogenic carbon concentrations of up to about 100% biogenic carbon. The fuels and fuel additive have essentially the same high biogenic concentration as the Fischer-Tropsch liquids which, in turn, contain the same concentration of biogenic carbon as the feedstock.

  • Patent number: 8740252
Abstract: Labels that may selectively provide signaling are shown. In one example, a fluorescent signaling section of a label may be perforated and may be mechanically removed from the main portion of the label to selectively provide a label that does not emit a fluorescent signal. In another example, a thermal printer is used to quench a fluorescent section of a label so that it does not emit a fluorescent signal.

  • Patent number: 8209923
Abstract: A vent hood and flashing assembly for use on a metal roof. A vent hood overlies and is joined to flashing. A cover and a screen overlie an upper end portion of the flashing to exclude rain, snow and pests. The flashing includes a resilient, flexible, water-repellant, flexible flange that extends outward from, and is attached to, a lower end portion of the flashing and a flexible, ring seal that overlies an upper surface of the flange. The assembly can be placed over a projection through an opening in a metal roof such that the cover and screen overlie an upper end of the projection and with the flashing surrounding the projection, and the flange can be bent to sealingly conform to the roof surface and secured thereto by fasteners.

  • Patent number: 7638135
Abstract: A collagen-binding MSCRAMM entitled Ace from enterococcal bacteria is provided which was homologous to the ligand-binding region of Cna, the collagen-binding MSCRAMM from Staphylococcus aureus, and which can be utilized to inhibit adhesion of enterococcal bacteria to extracellular matrix proteins. The N-terminal region of Ace contained a region (residues 174-319), or A domain, contains several 47-residue tandem repeat units between the collagen-binding site and cell wall-associated regions. The Ace protein can be utilized in methods of preventing and/or treating enterococcal infection, and in addition, antibodies raised against Ace, or its A domain, can be used to effectively inhibit the adhesion of enterococcal cells to a collagen substrate.

  • Patent number: 7627351
Abstract: A cellular alert device according to the present invention notifies a user that a cellular call is being received by an associated cellular telephone even when the alert device is not in close proximity or in data communication with the associated telephone. The cellular alert device includes a receiver for acquiring the same cellular paging signal that is also received by an associated cellular telephone. The alert device also includes a processor and an alarm such that the processor actuates the alarm when the receiver acquires a paging signal that is the same as that received by the associated telephone. The alert device and telephone are “associated” in that they both have the same mobile identification code.
