Abstract: A safety lock for pin latches of the type including a manually engageable drive plate rotatable approximately 180.degree. and connected through a linkage to a pin latch for reciprocal movement of the pin latch between a retracted disengaged position and an extended latched position, the safety lock being mounted on the linkage in such a manner as to prevent relative movement of the pin latch or linkage unless the safety lock is first manually engaged in a predetermined manner.

Abstract: A flush mounted latch, particularly suited for aircraft, and including a housing, which also serves as a handle and a hook latch, engagable with a keeper, the handle-housing having a first pivotal axis and the hook latch having a second pivotal axis. Between the two axes is disposed a tension adjustor externally accessible without disengaging the hook latch from its keeper for causing the hook latch to exert an optimum retaining force on the keeper.

Abstract: An entry resistance means for a two piece fastener of the type having a plunger and a grommet, the grommet including a set of fingers having a contracted position for insertion through an opening and an expanded position locking the grommet in the opening accomplished by axial insertion of the end of the plunger component between the fingers; the entry resistance means is disposed axially from the fingers and comprises mutually engagable portions of the grommet and plunger which increases the resistance to entry of the plunger into the grommet without change in the dimensions of the grommet.

Abstract: A fastener for joining sheet material having mating perforations, the fastener including a grommet and stud; the grommet having a head provided with an opening therethrough and a pair of spreadable stem elements; the stud being initially attached at one end integrally to the grommet within the opening and arranged, when severed from the head, to move between the stem elements and to rotate thereby to spread the stem elements and lock the grommet in place within the mating perforations; the stud having a retainer channel and the grommet having retainer projections for reception in the channel to prevent disengagement of the stud from the grommet after being severed therefrom for relative movement.
