  • Patent number: 11413046
Abstract: An implant having two layers of tubular braid is provided that can secure within an aneurysm sac, occlude a majority of the aneurysm's neck, and at least partially fill the aneurysm sac. The implant can include two layers of tubular braid that can be set into a predetermined shape, compressed for delivery through a microcatheter, and implanted in at least one implanted position. In some examples, the two layers can be implanted in two distinct implanted shapes, allowing for treatment of a wide range of aneurysm sizes. In some examples, the implanted can include a double layer braided compaction resistant column spanning the height of the aneurysm.

  • Publication number: 20220233204
Abstract: An anchoring and non-occluding intravascular device including a guide catheter and an anchor supporting structure disposed on the guide catheter and deployable from a contracted state to an enlarged state having an enlarged outer diameter relative to that while in a contracted state. In both the contracted and in the enlarged state the anchor supporting structure is configured to allow passage of blood distally beyond the anchor supporting structure; and the anchoring is provided exclusively by the anchor supporting structure. In use, prior to capture and retrieval of a clot within a vessel, the anchor supporting structure being deployed from the contracted state to the enlarged state. While in the enlarged state, the deployed anchor supporting structure anchoring in place the guide catheter in the vessel while still allowing blood flow through the vessel distally beyond the deployed anchor supporting structure.

  • Patent number: 11376013
Abstract: An implant system presented herein includes an engagement wire, a pull wire, and a braided implant having a distal ring thereon. The engagement wire has an elongated member with a radially extending engagement feature at its distal end. The braid can be moved from a delivery shape sized to traverse a catheter to an implanted shape sized to occlude an aneurysm neck. When the braid is in the delivery shape, the pull wire and the elongated member extend through the distal ring and the engagement feature is in a distal direction in relation to the distal ring. Once at least a portion of the braid is positioned in the aneurysm, the pull wire and the elongated member can be moved in a proximal direction to engage the engagement feature to the distal ring and move the distal ring proximally, thereby reshaping the braid within the aneurysm.

  • Publication number: 20220202425
Abstract: An example aneurysm implant can include a tubular braid that can have an open end, a pinched end, and a predetermined shape. In the predetermined shape, the tubular braid can have three segments and two inversions, one of the three segments extending between the two inversions and forming a sack. Two of the segments can form a substantially semispherical shape. The tubular braid can be implanted in an implanted shape based on the predetermined shape. The substantially semispherical shape of the tubular braid can aid in decreasing a pulsatile blood inflow rate and a pulsatile blood outflow rate for a substantially spherical aneurysm cavity.

  • Publication number: 20220104829
Abstract: An example system can include a tubular braid, a catheter, and an embolic coil. The tubular braid can have an open end, a pinched end, and a predetermined shape. In the predetermined shape, the tubular braid can have two inversions and a middle segment extending between the two inversions that forms a sack. The tubular braid can be implanted in an implanted shape based on the predetermined shape. A distal end of the catheter can be inserted into the sack when the tubular braid is implanted. The embolic coil can be delivered through the catheter into the sack. The opening to the sack can correspond to a constricted columnar segment of the middle segment when the braid is in the predetermined shape.

  • Publication number: 20220087681
Abstract: An implant can be implanted in an aneurysm to cause thrombogenesis within the aneurysm's sac. The implant can include a braid that can extend across the aneurysm neck and anchor to aneurysm's walls at least in the proximal portion of the aneurysm sac. The implant can further include a dome feature configured to press into aneurysm walls near the aneurysm's dome and facilitate securement of the braid across the aneurysm's neck. The braid at the aneurysm's neck and the dome feature can be joined or constricted at a junction, for instance with a radiopaque band. The dome feature can include a braid, embolic coil, and/or wire frame. The braid can be inverted based on a heat-set predetermined shape, where several predetermined shapes are suitable.

  • Publication number: 20220031443
Abstract: A tubular, folding flow diverter is provided. The flow diverter includes a plurality of sections, including a first section, a second section, and a third section. The flow diverter is shapeable to an elongated cylindrical shape and is movable to an implanted configuration. In the implanted configuration, the second section and at least a portion of the first and third sections overlap to form a three-layer shape. This three-layer shape can be positioned proximate an aneurysm neck when implanted in a patient. The overall porosity of the implant can be higher than legacy implants, because the overlapping portion of the three sections can decrease the porosity proximate the aneurysm neck.

  • Publication number: 20210401439
Abstract: Implant deployment systems can generally include a braided implant that can be detachably attached to a delivery tube by an expansion ring that can be positioned within a notch on an outer surface of the delivery tube near a distal end of the delivery tube. The implant can be positioned within a lumen of the delivery tube and remain attached to the delivery tube as the assembly is fed through a microcatheter to a treatment site. Once the braided implant is implanted, the expansion ring can move from a collapsed configuration that is engaged with the notch of the delivery tube to a deployed configuration that releases the delivery tube, thereby releasing the braided implant from the delivery tube.

  • Publication number: 20210338247
Abstract: A double layered braid for treating an aneurysm is provided. The braid can include a first radially expandable segment having a first plurality of wire segments with a first braid wire diameter. The braid can include a second radially expandable segment having a second plurality of wire segments with a second braid wire diameter, the second braid wire diameter being greater than the first braid wire diameter. The first segment can radially expand to form an outer occlusive sack that seals across a neck of the aneurysm. The second segment can radially expand within the outer occlusive sack to form an inner occlusive sack. The greater second braid wire diameter can allow the inner occlusive sack to exert a force against the outer occlusive sack and the walls of the aneurysm. The force can minimize movement of the outer occlusive sack from the neck of the aneurysm.

  • Publication number: 20210338250
Abstract: Intrasaccular flow diverter including: an interior fill braid physically inverted over itself forming a proximal inverted end and an opposite free end; and a dome braid disposed distally of and secured to the interior fill braid. Subject to application of an external mechanical force, the dome braid is transitionable between an expanded state and a compressed state. The dome braid has a proximal end with an opening defined therein through which starting at the free end the interior fill braid is passable therethrough exerting a radially outward force on the dome braid. A delivery wire is releasably detachable from the proximal inverted end of the interior fill braid. The dome braid has a stiffer profile relative to that of the interior fill braid to maintain in position within the aneurysm the dome braid as the interior fill braid is advanced therein.

  • Publication number: 20210251635
Abstract: An example system for deploying an intrasaccular implant to occlude an aneurysm can include the intrasaccular implant with a securing ring thereon, a pusher, a securing wire with an extended securing feature thereon, and a pull wire. The system can be sized to be delivered intravascularly within a microcatheter. During delivery and manipulation of the implant, the securing ring can be held between the pusher and the securing feature of the securing wire with the securing wire and pull wire extended through securing ring. To deploy the implant, the pull wire can be retracted proximally to thereby allow the securing feature to pass through the securing ring and release the implant. The pusher can include a hypotube and/or an extended pushing feature on the securing wire.
