The transmission apparatus generates an FEC block on the basis of an input packet or an input stream, generates an FEC frame on the basis of the FEC block, and sends the FEC frame. A header of the FEC block includes type identification information identifying a type of the input packet or the input stream, information detecting a header error, and a minimum fixed length header having start position information of the input packet or the input stream stored in a payload of the FEC frame.
