  • Patent number: 4640042
Abstract: An improved articulated fishing lure is comprised of at least a front section and a tail section which are symmetrical about a longitudinal vertical plane of symmetry and are connected with minimum longitudinal separation between sections for oscillation of the tail section relative to the front section to simulate the action of an injured minnow. A cupped cavity is provided in the front end of the tail section and the axis of articulation of the tail section relative to the front section lies in the longitudinal vertical plane of symmetry rearward of the cupped cavity and forward of the centroid of the tail section. Upper and lower bracket arms which overlie and underlie respectively the front portion of the tail section are mounted on and extend rearwardly from the rear end of the front section. The bracket arms support a pivot which extends through the tail section along the axis of articulation.

  • Patent number: 4573282
Abstract: An articulated fishing lure is comprised of at least a front and a tail section which are connected with minimum longitudinal separation between sections for oscillation of the tail section relative to the front section to simulate the action of an injured minnow. The front of the tail section is hollowed and the point of articulation of the tail section to a drawbar fixed to the rear of the front section and extending rearwardly therefrom in an axial direction is between the front edge and centroid of the tail section. The rear end of the front section is hollowed to permit freedom of oscillation of the tail section relative to the front section while maintaining minimum longitudinal separation between sections.

  • Patent number: 4365740
Abstract: The present case discloses a signal or flag assembly for use with a mailbox having a front door hinged at the lower portion thereof and comprising a body portion having sidewalls, said signal assembly comprising a flag or signal having a signal standard or support bent intermediate its ends to provide a signal carrying portion or arm and an attaching arm portion extending at an angle thereto, and pivot means for securing the attaching arm portion to one side of the mailbox. The attaching arm portion of the standard includes a pawl portion at its outer end for releasable latching connection with a signal latching member carried by said mailbox door.

  • Patent number: 4345731
Abstract: Gutter hangers with sealing means for fasteners such as nails, piercing the gutter rear wall and the facia board of a building. The sealing means may be of widely varied types, as for example, compressible grommets surrounding the nails in an eaves trough hanger or may be in the form of a flexible compressible sealing strip positioned in the U-bend portion of a gutter hanger positioned over the rear edge of the gutter. The sealing means are preferably of compressible elastomeric material such as a polychloroprene.

  • Patent number: 4294423
Abstract: Gutter hangers with sealing means for fasteners such as nails, piercing the gutter rear wall and the facia board of a building. The sealing means may be of widely varied type, as for example, compressible grommets surrounding the nail in an eaves trough hanger as shown in U.S. Pat. No. 1,635,871 dated July 12, 1927, or may be in the form of a flexible compressible sealing strip positioned in the U-bend over the rear edge of the gutter shown in FIG. 3 of U.S. Pat. No. 3,416,760, Sauder, dated Dec. 17, 1968. The sealing means are preferably of compressible elastomeric material such as neoprene.

  • Patent number: 4241548
Abstract: An improved gutter hanger is disclosed of one piece construction having an elongated body portion which horizontally spans the open top of a trough-shaped rain gutter, an upstanding support portion which projects upwardly from one end of the body portion above the gutter, and an upwardly and rearwardly facing hook portion at the other end of the body portion which interlocks with an oppositely directed hook-shaped front edge portion of the gutter. At least one upwardly projecting tongue, struck out of the upstanding support portion, engages under an inwardly and reversely bent rear upper edge portion of the gutter. A nail receiving hole extends through the upstanding support portion at a position above the upper extremity of the one or more tongues so that when a nail is driven through the hole into a building wall, the nail cooperates with the gutter hanger to support the gutter from the building wall and to securely lock the gutter against displacement without the nail piercing the gutter.

  • Patent number: 4223828
Abstract: A roadside mailbox is adapted to be opened and closed by movement of a mail service vehicle past it. The box has a door hinged along its bottom edge to the bottom of the mailbox. A lever arm, which is made of spring wire, projects outwardly from the door and is engageable by a slanted actuating rod mounted on the vehicle. As the vehicle approaches the box, engagement of the actuating rod with the arm opens the mailbox. As the vehicle leaves the box, the rod becomes disengaged from the arm and the door is closed by a spring. The lever arm resists bending in a vertical plane, and has substantially greater flexibility to bend in a horizontal plane toward and away from the mailbox. The actuating rod includes telescoping sections and may be quickly detached from its support on the side of the vehicle. A signal flag on the box, if raised is automatically lowered by opening the door. The signal flag may also be manually raised and lowered even with the door closed.
