  • Publication number: 20240315805
Abstract: An orthodontic appliance includes a body defining a slot including an inserting portion including an open end, and a receiving portion spaced apart from the open end and communicating with the inserting portion. A locking member is at least partially and movably received within an opening. The locking member is movable at least along the first axis between a locked state and an unlocked state and is normally biased to the locked state. In the locked state, the locking member at least partially extends into the inserting portion to removably retain the archwire within the receiving portion. In the unlocked state, the locking member is displaced from the locked state into the opening along the first axis, such that upon application of an external force, the locking member is movable to the unlocked state to allow movement of the archwire between the inserting portion and the receiving portion.

  • Publication number: 20240156574
Abstract: An orthodontic appliance includes a body. The body includes a first portion defining a slot for receiving an archwire. The body further includes a second portion extending from the first portion along a longitudinal axis. The second portion includes a bottom surface opposite to the first portion. The second portion further includes a lateral surface extending from the bottom surface towards the first portion along the longitudinal axis. The bottom surface and the lateral surface at least partially form an external surface of the body. The second portion defines a cavity at least partially surrounded by the bottom surface. The cavity at least partially extends along a length of the second portion from the bottom surface. The cavity includes a reservoir and at least one passage disposed in fluid communication with the reservoir. The at least one passage extends from the reservoir to the lateral surface.

  • Publication number: 20240099817
Abstract: Attachments of the present disclosure combines the optimal practices of the traditional bracket-wire system and more recent resilient appliance (e.g., CTAs and polymeric bands) systems. The attachments include prescribed in/outs, torques and angulations designed utilizing the straight wire methodology for determining the bonding location on a particular tooth of the dental arch. A marriage of bracket prescription with attachment placement can help the treating professional to better visualize the treatment outcome with the tray or band on the patient.

  • Publication number: 20240033044
Abstract: A method includes wire driven phase in which a plurality of attachments are bonded to teeth, the attachments including a wire-retaining region and an engagement region. The engagement region has a shoulder configured to releasably engage a corresponding indentation in an aligner tray. An archwire is inserted in to the wire-retaining regions to move a first malaccluded tooth from a first position to a second position. An aligner phase follows the wire driven phase, in which the archwire is removed, and an aligner tray is applied over the teeth of the patient. The aligner tray includes cavities shaped to receive and resiliently position the first maloccluded tooth from the second position to a third position, and further includes indentations configured to releasably engage at least a portion of the engagement regions on the attachments.

  • Patent number: 11668116
Abstract: A door handle set includes a handle assembly having a primary lock and having a handle rotatable about a primary rotational axis. A latch bolt assembly has a latch bolt. The latch bolt assembly is operatively coupled to the handle assembly, wherein a rotation of the handle results in a linear translation of the latch bolt. A supplemental lock has a second axis parallel to, and spaced apart from, the primary rotational axis. The supplemental lock has an actuator that is operable relative to the second axis. The supplemental lock is configured to selectively block the rotation of the handle regardless of the locking state of the primary lock.
