  • Publication number: 20240069618
Abstract: The disclosure provides a power management method. The power management method is applicable to an electronic device. The electronic device is electrically coupled to an adapter, and includes a system and a battery. The adapter has a feed power. The battery has a discharge power. The power management method of the disclosure includes: reading a power value of the battery; determining a state of the system; and discharging power to the system, when the system is in a power-on state and the power value is greater than a charging stopping value, by using the battery, and controlling, according to the discharge power and the feed power, the adapter to selectively supply power to the system. The disclosure further provides an electronic device using the power management method.

  • Publication number: 20100316253
Abstract: A method of electronically monitoring a subject, for example in a home care environment, to determine the presence of the subject in zones of the environment as a function of time includes fusing data from image and wearable sensors. A grid display for displaying the presence in the zones is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20100113948
Abstract: A reflective photoplethysmograph sensor (for example mounted in an earpiece) arranged for photoplethysmograph measurements behind a subject's ear is provided. Also provided is a wearable photoplethysmograph heart rate sensor which includes a plurality of radiation detectors defining respective sensing planes which are tilted with respect to each other. Further there is provided a photoplethysmograph heart rate sensing system which compensates for motion artefacts using a dark signal which may be derived during an off phase of a duty cycle of an emitter and a photoplethysmograph system arranged to select between a plurality of detectors based on a quality measure. Combinations of the systems and sensors are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080288493
Abstract: A method of classifying a data record as belonging to one of a plurality of classes, the data records comprising a plurality of data samples, each sample comprising a plurality of features derived from a value sampled from a sensor signal at a point in time, the method including: defining a selection variable indicative of the temporal variation of the sensor signals within a time window; defining a selection criterion for the selection variable; comparing a value of the selection variable to the selection criterion to select an input representation for a self organising map, the map having a plurality of input and output units, and deriving an input from the data samples within the time window in accordance with the selected input representation; and applying the input to a self organising map corresponding to the selected input representation and classifying the data record based on a winning output unit of the self organising map.

  • Publication number: 20070020443
Abstract: A card with a picture-contained mirror surface layer comprises an upper covering layer; an upper middle layer installed below the upper covering layer; a lower middle layer installed below the upper middle layer; a lower covering layer installed below the lower middle layer; and a picture-contained mirror surface layer installed at a position between the upper covering layer and the upper middle layer or between the upper middle layer and the lower middle layer, or the picture-contained mirror surface layer is installed between the lower middle layer and the lower covering layer. Or the combination of the different layers is performed by mechanically melting the layers and then combining the melting layers. The picture-contained mirror surface layer is made from compound material or metals. The picture is selected from textures, numbers, figures, or the combinations of above items. The different layers have present different light effect.

  • Patent number: 5651264
Abstract: A flexible process controller for coordinating the operations of various equipment is disclosed. Briefly stated, in the preferred embodiment of the present invention, various parameters of the sub-systems in a HVAC system are monitored and made alterable or changeable. These parameters are transmitted to and controlled by a flexible process controller which thereafter cooperates with a motor drive controller. Logic incident to and resident in the flexible process controller consider the various parameters monitored and allow the user or the system to minimize power consumption amongst one or more of the sub-systems while maximizing efficiency and operability.
