Abstract: An implant useful as a prosthetic replacement of an intervertebral disk which consists of a housing providing at least a part simulation of a disk yet containing a force transferring media. The housing is in the form of a bellows or equivalent structure preferably restricted as to maximum separation between those surfaces of the housing to be in contact with the proximate vertebral bodies thereby to limit angular distortion under the effect of the proximate vertebral bodies.
