  • Patent number: 6975419
Abstract: A printing system and method are provided that facilitate the mobile printing of a document. The printing system comprises an automated print agent located in a device coupled to a network. The printing system also comprises a network alias associated with a printer coupled to the network, where the automated print agent acting as a network destination for a transmitted document addressed to the network alias. The automated print agent orchestrates the printing of the transmitted document on the printer upon receipt of the transmitted document from a transmitting device.

  • Publication number: 20020194228
Abstract: An automated rendering system and method are provided. In one embodiment, the system comprises a processor circuit having a processor and a memory. Stored in the memory and executable by the processor is a rendering service that comprises logic that identifies an application employed to generate a digital document in a computer system, and logic that identifies a select rendering application from a number of rendering applications in the computer system to render the document into an output file embodied in a predefined file format. The rendering service further comprises logic that automatically executes the select rendering application to render the digital document into the output file embodied in the predefined file format.

  • Publication number: 20020191206
Abstract: A system and method are provided for brokered rendering. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: examining a document embodied in a non-rendered format in a computer system to identify at least one rendering operation to be performed to convert the document into a rendered format to be employed in printing the document, identifying at least one rendering application capable of performing the at least one rendering operation, and, applying the document to the at least one rendering application to implement the at least one rendering operation.

  • Publication number: 20020184256
Abstract: A method and system for a computer to deliver an electronic document to an Internet appliance by implementing a single-use document address are provided. A request is made by a wired or wireless device to a remote computer for a document. The remote computer, upon retrieving the document, dynamically assigns a single-use document address to the requested document so that the document is visible on the Internet. The remote computer then sends a message to the wired or wireless device containing the document address for the requested document. The wired or wireless device may then download the document itself if it has Internet connection capabilities and access or it may communicate the document address to an Internet appliance that does have Internet connection capability. The Internet appliance downloads the document by the single-use document address, which is thereafter deleted by the remote computer thereby making the document no longer visible on the Internet.
