    Abstract: A display case for a replacement window, comprising a case assembly and frame member. The case assembly has a front panel and a rear panel hingedly connected to each other near their top edges, and having an inwardly directed flange connected to their side edges. The frame member secures a replacement window therein and is slidably inserted within the case assembly. The frame member comprises two side sections, a top section and a bottom section. Each side section has at least one longitudinally-extending channel on its external surface for sliding engagement with a flange on the case assembly. The case assembly has means for preventing opening of the hinged connection beyond a predetermined maximum point. There is a plank attached to said bottom section of the frame and extending along its length. The plank has outwardly beveled longitudinal edges so as to create a groove between the bottom section of the frame and the bottom of each beveled edge.

    Abstract: Apparatus for solvent extraction of a mother liquor with a solvent that is immiscible with and has a different specific gravity than the mother liquor, is disclosed. Means are provided for introducing into an extraction chamber, the solvent, the mother liquor and a carrier gas. Such means simultaneously serve to atomize the solvent and the mother liquor and disperse same in the carrier gas whereby upon introduction a cloud phase is produced in the chamber.The introducing and simultaneously atomizing is carried out through one and the same spray nozzle. Condensation means are arranged in the extraction chamber and function to terminate the cloud phase and produce a condensed extracted mother liquor phase and a condensed solvent phase containing the substance to be extracted. Means are provided for separating the condensed extracted mother liquor phase from the condensed solvent phase on the basis of the different specific gravities of same.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a process for solubilizing alumina in minerals, rocks or industrial waste products, in which the starting material in finely divided form is mixed with lime in an amount 1 to 3 moles or more of lime (CaO or Ca(OH).sub.2) for each mole of alumina and optionally 1 mole for each mole of any silica present in the starting material, and at the same time or thereafter with water, the resulting mix is maintained under hydrothermal conditions until the alumina has become solubilized by reaction with the lime, and the product is if necessary comminuted to bring it to a form suitable for leaching out of the solubilized alumina.

    Abstract: Various chloroformates are produced from aliphatic, substituted aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic and arylaliphatic alcohols having up to 20 carbon atoms and of phosgene in a continuous, concurrent flow process, with the alcohol starting material being atomized into the reactor, whereby the reaction takes place largely in the fog phase. The vapor pressure of the phosgene can be utilized for the creation of the fog phase and the termination of the atomized state can be used for efficiently separating the chloroformate end product from the hydrogen chloride by product. The process can be carried out in a reactor comprising a reaction zone, a charged zone and a zone for the recovery of the end product.
