  • Patent number: 5899266
Abstract: A process for reducing the pressure buildup in an automobile radiator which contains a bottom section, a radiator header, a multiplicity of tubes extending between the bottom section and the radiator header, and a heat expansion chamber disposed at least about 0.5 inches above the radiator header and connected to the radiator header by a conduit. In this process, hot fluid containing antifreeze at a temperature of at least about 200 degrees Fahrenheit is flowed through the radiator tube; but hot fluid flow into the heat expansion chamber is prevented. The heat expansion chamber is made from a material with a resistivity at 20 degrees Centigrade greater than about 6 microhoms-centimeters; and the material within the heat expansion chamber has a resistivity at 20 degrees Centigrade of from about 6 to about 40 microhms-centimeters.

  • Patent number: 5131461
Abstract: A heater which is preferably rated at about 1,500 watts is described. This heater contains at least three separate heat exchangers; each of the heat exchangers contains heat exchanger tubes, and each of the heat exchangers contains a different fluid capacity.A blower passes cold air, in sequence, past the first heat exchanger, then past the second heat exchanger, and then past the third heat exchanger. At the same time, a pump forces a heated heat-exchange medium through the third heat exchanger, through the second heat exchanger, and then through the first heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 4816142
Abstract: According to the invention, the grains of the hydrate slurry are separated by sedimentation where the dispersed bubbles of air are removed in course of the presizing, then a supplementary sizing is carried out. Preferably, a liquid free from hydrate grains is fed in to stream against the sinking grains. This liquid is advantageously the spent liquor of the hydrate filter. The apparatus according to the invention consists of a container with conical bottom, a feeding device, a slurry outlet stub and an overflow channel. The inlet stubs of the feeding device, however, are placed off-center and every stub is connected with a presizing equipment. This equipment is composed of a bundle of pipes and/or a pack of plates which are slop placed to geometrical axis: At the upper part of the presizing equipment there is a foam overflow apparatus. The bottom of each presizing equipment is connected with a common cone-frustum type deflector casing. The casing is concentric with the container.
