  • Patent number: 11659034
Abstract: A Data Storage Device (DSD) includes a plurality of solid-state memories for storing data and a controller configured to receive a packet from a host including a command to read or write data in a solid-state memory of the plurality of solid-state memories and a header to communicate between the host and the DSD. The header in the packet is changed into an internal header to communicate between the controller and the solid-state memory. An internal command and the internal header are sent to the solid-state memory to perform the command.

  • Patent number: 11038961
Abstract: A Data Storage Device (DSD) includes a plurality of storage areas for storing data. A command is received from a host to write data or read data in the DSD, and a storage area is identified for writing the data or reading the data for the command. An internal command is sent to the identified storage area to write the data or read the data for the command using an Ethernet protocol. In another aspect, a command is received from a controller of a DSD to copy data from one storage area to a different storage area of the DSD. The different storage area is identified using an address included in the command received from the controller, and the data for the command is read from the storage area. The data is sent to the different storage area using the address included in the command received from the controller.

  • Publication number: 20160183145
Abstract: A method of seamless antenna handover comprising transmitting at least one of a handover trigger packet and a handover synchronization packet (HSP) by a transmitter to a first and a second repeating relay, the first repeating relay configured to transmit a data signal to a first modem at a remote receiver and the second repeating relay configured to transmit the data signal to a second modem at the remote receiver, receiving, by the first and second modems at the remote receiver, the data signal and the at least one of the handover trigger packet and the HSP from the first and second repeating relays, respectively, and activating one of the first and second modems and deactivating the other of the first and second modems in response to receiving the at least one of the handover trigger packet and the HSP.

  • Publication number: 20140153580
Abstract: A method of reducing packet loss resulting from header compression during data transmission comprising of calculating, by a transmitter, the difference between one or more delta fields of each packet among a plurality of packets and a base frame of data wherein for at least a portion of the packets, the base frame is a packet other than a packet immediately preceding the packet for which the difference is calculated, encoding the difference and compressing the plurality of packets using the transmitter; transmitting, using the transmitter, the plurality of compressed packets and an uncompressed full-header packet through a communications channel to a receiver, receiving the plurality of compressed packets and the uncompressed full-header packet by the receiver, and decompressing, by the receiver, the plurality of compressed packets using the difference between the one or more delta fields of each packet among the plurality of compressed packets and the base frame.

  • Patent number: 8060646
Abstract: An adaptive telecommunications packet transmission system. Implementations may include a compression engine configured to compress a header of at least one uncompressed packet and to send at least one compressed packet corresponding to the at least one uncompressed packet across a communication channel coupled to the compression engine. A refresh rate calculator may be included that is configured to receive at least one error and at least one success from a decompression engine and calculate an adaptive refresh rate based on the at least one error or the at least one success. The refresh rate calculator may be configured to communicate an adaptive refresh rate to the compression engine. The compression engine may be configured to transmit at least one uncompressed packet across the communication channel according to the adaptive refresh rate received from the refresh rate calculator.
