  • Publication number: 20220235688
Abstract: An exhaust gas sensor assembly for a vehicle includes a sampling tube having a proximal end connectable to a housing and a distal end configured to be suspended with a cavity of the housing. The tube defines a hollow center, an inlet, an outlet, and an exhaust gas flow path extending from the inlet, through the hollow center, and to the outlet. An exhaust gas sensor is disposed in the hollow center at the proximal end and includes a sensing element disposed in the exhaust gas flow path. a flow guide is disposed in the hollow center between the inlet and the sensing element and is configured to redirect the flow path through a passageway defined between the tube and the flow guide.

  • Patent number: 7794672
Abstract: A catalytic converter assembly is provided that includes a metallic tubular member having a first end and a second end. The metallic tubular member includes an aperture centrally formed between the first end and the second end. A sensor is received in the aperture and extends into an interior of the metallic tubular member for sensing a content of gas flowing through the metallic tubular member. At least one substrate is disposed within the metallic tubular member. The at least one substrate has a cavity formed in an exterior surface of the at least one substrate and extends radially inward. The cavity is aligned with the aperture of the metallic tubular member and receives a portion of the sensor extending into the interior of the metallic tubular member.

  • Patent number: 6889988
Abstract: A stabilizer bar assembly includes a stabilizer bar having a bushing, a bushing retainer in mechanical compressive engagement with the bushing, and a mounting bracket adapted to connect the stabilizer bar to an automotive vehicle. The bushing retainer can have a uniform outer diameter such that the bushing is compressed uniformly over the entire length of the bushing retainer, or, alternatively, the bushing retainer can have a stepped outer diameter such that the bushing is compressed differently within discrete sections along the length of the bushing retainer. A method of inducing a pre-load onto a bushing that supports a stabilizer bar includes: providing a stabilizer bar, placing a bushing onto the stabilizer bar, placing a bushing retainer, having an first outer diameter onto the bushing, and reducing the outer diameter of the bushing retainer to a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter.

  • Patent number: 6845994
Abstract: A stabilizer bar assembly for an automotive vehicle includes a stabilizer bar, a bushing mounted to the stabilizer bar that has a first stiffness in a first radial plane, and a second stiffness in a second radial plane approximately perpendicular to the first radial plane, a bushing retainer in mechanically compressive engagement with the bushing such that the bushing is in frictional engagement with the stabilizer bar, thereby preventing relative movement of the bushing and the stabilizer bar, and a mounting bracket adapted to connect the stabilizer bar to the automotive vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6669184
Abstract: A compression spring comprising a plurality of composite wave rings stacked and attached to one another in crest to crest configuration. Each of the wave rings has a plurality of alternating peaks and troughs wherein one peak and one adjacent trough define a wave having a wave height measured axially from the peak to the trough and the wave heights vary such that the compression spring provides a varying spring rate as the compression spring is compressed.
