  • Publication number: 20230093120
Abstract: The present application relates to synchronization signal transmission using multiple beams. In an example, a network node may support M beams covering M areas. However, only K<M beams may be used at any time for transmission of synchronization signals. Accordingly, the network node cycles through the K beams allocated to synchronization signal transmission, whereby a synchronization signal is transmitted on K spatially-multiplexed and simultaneously-active beams to reach K coverage areas during a first time period, then next K coverage areas during a second time period, and so on until all of the M coverage areas are reached to restart the cycle. A UE is located in only one coverage area, and would see the synchronization signal beam once during a period of time equal to the time needed to cycle through the M coverage areas.

  • Publication number: 20220417972
Abstract: An application layer in a device, a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer in the device, and/or a media access control (MAC) layer in the device may determine that wireless communication resources allocated to the device need to be adjusted. The determination may be in response to detecting that a quality of the wireless connection of the device has deteriorated, or it may be based on advance knowledge of information pertaining to an application layer payload in the device. In response to the determination the device may transmit, in a MAC Control Element (MAC CE) to a base station, a request for an adjustment of the allocated wireless communication resources. The adjustment may lead to a temporary boost of resources for a limited period of time or to a persistent update of the allocated wireless communication resources.

  • Patent number: 7581162
Abstract: A method, system, apparatus and computer program product for correcting errors in a signal transmission using a rate ¾ low density parity check (LDPC) code. At least a portion of a received data message is encoded by using a parity check matrix of the LDPC code. The encoded data message is transmitting in a signal transmission over a communication channel to a receiving device in the communication network. After being received, the encoded portion of the data message is decoded using a parity check matrix of the LDPC code to obtain the data message. For example, the encoding and decoding can be performed using a parity check matrix corresponds to a coded block size (N) equal to 1944 for communicating data in compliance with an 802.11n standard.
