Publication number: 20240082167Abstract: This disclosure relates to an engineered a novel synthetic artificial stem cell (SASC) system which mimics the paracrine effect of the stem cell secretome and provides tailorability of the composition for targeted tissue regeneration. This novel SASC system demonstrates the feasibility of developing a completely synthetic, tailorable stem cell secretome which reinforces the possibility of developing a new therapeutic strategy that provides better control over targeted tissue engineering applications. Disclosed herein are biodegradable polymeric microspheres that have been used to encapsulate secretome active agents. These microspheres mimic or have the potential to result in a greater therapeutic paracrine effect compared to stem cells, without the added risk of immunological response or the extra pro-inflammatory, antagonistic or inert factors/cytokines. The compositions may be personalized to any disease and/or individual, therefore, adding a much needed element to therapeutics.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2022Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Cato LAURENCIN, Shiv S. SHAH, Lakshmi NAIR, Ho-man KAN

Publication number: 20220172052Abstract: Described herein are techniques of training a machine learning model and performing inference using an analog processor. Some embodiments mitigate the loss in performance of a machine learning model resulting from a lower precision of an analog processor by using an adaptive block floating-point representation of numbers for the analog processor. Some embodiments mitigate the loss in performance of a machine learning model due to noise that is present when using an analog processor. The techniques involve training the machine learning model such that it is robust to noise.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2021Publication date: June 2, 2022Applicant: Lightmatter, Inc.Inventors: Darius Bunandar, Ludmila Levkova, Nicholas Dronen, Lakshmi Nair, David Widemann, David Walter, Martin B.Z. Patent number: 10724111Abstract: Provided herein are methods for determining the presence or absence of an enteroviruses and parechoviruses in a biological sample. The methods involve identifying the presence or absence of a target nucleic acids from the viruses using direct amplification from a biological sample without a step of extraction of the nucleic acids, but retaining substantially the same specificity and sensitivity of methods assaying extracted nucleic acids. Also provided are methods of diagnosis using the methods provided and compositions and kits for the practice of the methods.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2019Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: Quest Diagnostics Investments LLCInventors: Peter Lee, Lakshmi Nair, Albert Castro, Maria Vestal, Michelle Tabb
