  • Patent number: 11323204
Abstract: PBCH design may affect timing indication in a wireless network and polar code interleaver design, among other things. Mechanisms may indicate half frame timing though de-modulation reference signal sequence initialization, de-modulation reference signal mapping order, or de-modulation reference signal resource element location. The payload of the PBCH comprises a master information block (MIB), which payload is scrambled and encoded using a polar code. After rate matching and interleaving of the polar codeword, second scrambling is applied and the data is modulated.

  • Publication number: 20220116152
Abstract: Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes may be transmitted via configured grants as well as scheduled grants. The configured grants may include time and frequency resources, and transmissions may occur across contiguous transmissions. HARQ process information, such as HARQ IDs and redundancy versions, may be communicated via a control channel, and the control channel may be multiplexed with the transmission resources of the configured grants. Retransmission timers may be used for HARQ processes conveyed via configured grants, and the transmitting apparatus may signal to a receiver when to send an acknowledgement. An acknowledgement may take the form of bitmaps for code block groups of a HARQ. A configured grant may be selected from among multiple configured grants based upon low latency, for example. A group of configured grants may be activated or deactivated via a single command.

  • Publication number: 20220039158
Abstract: Sub-band (SB) indications and listen-before-talk (LBT) outcomes may be used to adjust communications between devices such as wireless terminals and base stations. For example, a wireless terminal may receive SB indications including SB configurations and/or LBT outcomes of a base station, and other information such as a remapped CORESET. Similarly, a terminal may determine that a physical resource block (PRB) is invalid based at least in part on whether the PRB overlaps with a guard band. The terminal may be arranged to adjust its searches and transmissions based on received SB indications, and to provide the base station with LBT outcomes of the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20210409091
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for a more flexible use of bandwidth parts (BWP) and cells for the various transmissions within the BFR procedure, such as the UL beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) and the DL beam failure recovery response (BFRR). The proposed framework allows these transmission to occur in BWPs with different Id, as well as on different cells. Example benefits include support for BFR on DL-only SCells by allowing the BFR UL transmissions on another cell with UL, support for sequential/parallel multi-cell BFRQ for improved BFR reliability and latency performance, and support for less UE-initiated BWP switching for BFR.

  • Publication number: 20210392683
Abstract: User equipment (UE) in beam-centric telecommunications cell may use a variety of listen-before-talk (LBT) procedures and hybrid channel access procedures for uplink transmissions are on different beams and configured or scheduled in contiguous or non-contiguous mode. UE behavior may be based on the LBT result across the different beams. A gNB may indicate LBT occasions to UEs. The UL numerology may be adjusted without LBT while near the end of a gNB's maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT). A gNB may use LBT procedures, before down link transmissions, using data, control, and reference signals, etc., across different beams.

  • Publication number: 20210367713
Abstract: Systems and method are specified to improve the reception of UL transmission, for example in power or coverage limited situations. A WTRU may modify procedures to increase the available signal energy for reception at an eNB and/or to make more efficient use of the available signal energy at the receiver for processing UL transmissions. Example methods for increasing UL link coverage may include modifying HARQ timing (e.g., shorter HARQ), using longer TTIs, use of dedicated PUSCH allocations, use of new PUSCH modulations, enhanced reference signal design, UL macro diversity reception for PUSCH, utilizing protocol reduction techniques, ensuring in-order packet delivery, and/or utilizing a configuration for coverage limited/power limited modes of operation. The proposed methods may be applied individually or in any combination.

  • Patent number: 11184121
Abstract: Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes, indicators, and similar methods may be used improve new radio performance in a number of ways. For example HARQ processes may be retransmitted, even before a response is expected, a number of times. Separate acknowledgement may be provided for various code blocks within a single transport block. Multi-bit ACK/NACK signaling may be used to efficiently express the status of individual code blocks or groups of code blocks within a transmission block. Grantless transmissions may be acknowledged implicitly, e.g., via responses comprising downlink control information or sent via a physical hybrid automatic repeat request indicator channel.

  • Publication number: 20210360595
Abstract: New radio download numerology allocation information may be obtained through master information block data, system information block data, radio resource control signals, or signals or a physical downlink numerology indication channel, and used along with a reference signal detected in a search space to obtain resource element positions in an antenna port reference signal in a resource block that belongs to a particular band slice according to a reference signal allocation scheme for a band slice numerology. A physical download control may then be decoded based upon one or more resource elements of the reference signal, allowing the connection of, e.g., an enhanced mobile broadband, massive machine type communication, or ultra-reliable/low-latency application to a communications network thereby. Alternatively, multiple physical downlink control channels may be blindly demodulated at each of a number calculated reference signal locations, and one channel selected based on passing a cyclic redundancy check.
