  • Patent number: 10452984
Abstract: Systems and methods for alerting a third party device according to a result of automated evaluation of a received response packet according to at least one pattern in the data packet are disclosed herein. The system can include a memory having a pattern database and a model database. The system can further include a user device and a content management server. The content management server can receive a response packet and identify one or several patterns within the response packet. Based on the presence or absence of these one or several patterns in the response packet, the content management server can generate an evaluation of the response packet and generate and send an alert with the results of the evaluation.

  • Patent number: 7779282
Abstract: A sub-system may maintain the network connectivity of the device, while the device is operating in low power. The sub-system may determine whether a pre-specified pattern is present in the incoming packet. The sub-system may send network messages such as keep-alive or time-out messages on behalf of the device if a first pattern is detected in the incoming packet. A first action associated with the first pattern may indicate that a network message is to be sent to another device. The sub-system may send a wake-up signal to the device if a second pattern is detected in the incoming packet. A second action associated with the second pattern may indicate that a wake-up signal is to be sent to the device.

  • Publication number: 20060092963
Abstract: Architecture and method for quality of service (QoS) for multimedia and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) applications in a wireless network, for example, a wireless local area network (WLAN). A QoS agent may be provided for a WLAN client to provide traffic profiles, parameters, and/or configuration settings to describe how an application may be executed with a desired QoS. A QoS agent may provide implementation of certain parameters and/or configurations to establish a data path that will provide a QoS for a traffic flow generated by a QoS application.

  • Publication number: 20060067214
Abstract: A client node selects an access point that can service its current and future bandwidth requirements. The client node locates one or more access points that are within range of the client node. The client node tests the located access points to determine which of them can handle its current bandwidth requirement. For the access points that can handle the current bandwidth requirement, the client node tests them to determine which can substantially handle its future bandwidth requirement. If one is found, the client node connects to that access point. Otherwise the client node connects to an access point that can at least handle its current bandwidth requirement.

  • Patent number: 6876643
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for organizing a set of nodes into a minimum number of connected clusters of bounded size in a wireless transmission system, wherein the method comprises using of bits in packets used in the initial stages of the device discovery procedure, to include information relating to a state of device discovery to achieve the separation of the nodes into those in the transmit-state and the receive-state; defining a Master-designate among the nodes through a statistical procedure and defining remaining nodes as a Slave-designate; defining a cluster including the Master-designate and at least one the Slave-designate, wherein the Slave-designate continuously scans for the inquiry message transmitted from the Master-designate and the Slave-designate transmits the inquiry response to the Master-designate.

  • Patent number: 6657987
Abstract: Media Access Control (MAC) Scheduling for Quality of Service (QoS) uses the bandwidth and delay requirements of a connection to calculate the polling interval, which is the maximum time that the scheduler can be away from the connection. The methodology involves deadline-based scheduling and adapts deadlines based on the number of packets actually arriving to take advantage of any excess bandwidth that is available.
