  • Publication number: 20240054498
Abstract: The invention secures contactless payment cards against misuse at ‘unattended type’ terminal devices having near field communication capabilities. The invention involves receiving from a communication device a first unique identifier associated with a contactless payment card, and a second unique identifier associated with the communication device. Transmission of the first unique identifier and the second unique identifier from the communication device is implemented in response to the communication device detecting a contactless card tap event, and the communication device retrieving the first unique identifier from the contactless payment card. The invention involves selectively implementing one of a first payment authorization communication flow and a second payment authorization communication flow.

  • Publication number: 20230298019
Abstract: The invention provides methods, systems and computer program products for implementing an electronic payment transaction between mobile communication device and a NFC enabled merchant device, both of which are configured to implement a defined communication protocol. The invention implements the required functionality by (i) receiving a request for a trust token from a merchant device, (ii) determining whether the merchant device is trustworthy, (iii) responsive to a determination that the merchant device is trustworthy, generating and transmitting a first displayable trust token to the merchant device, (iv) receiving a second displayable token from the mobile communication device, (v) comparing the received second displayable token against the first displayable token, and generating a merchant device validation message based on the comparison, and (vi) transmitting the merchant validation decision message to the mobile communication device.

  • Patent number: 11715100
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to electronic systems and computerized methods for verification of transacting parties to process transactions. A payment network server receives details of a transaction fulfilled by an agent and generates a transaction identification plaintext. A first party keyset for the first transacting party and an agent keyset for the agent is identified. The server generates cryptograms and ciphertexts encrypted by the first party keyset and agent keyset and sends the cryptograms to the first transacting party and agent. An encrypted cryptogram contains an encrypted ciphertext which contains a plaintext representing the transaction identification plaintext. The ciphertexts are exchanged between the first transacting party and agent by a computer handshake for decryption. The plaintexts are extracted from the ciphertexts and compared against the transaction identification plaintext for verifying the first transacting party and agent.
